[You would think someone was holding Mystique at gun point with the initial look she gave the camera, looking none too happy to be making this broadcast, but a huff of a sigh and roll of her eyes later and she managed to compose herself to a more neutral expression. She of course could fake a more fitting emotion easily, she was well versed in acting a part but since this wasn’t a mission she saw no point in pretending to be something she isn’t. Others would just have to deal with that fact.]

After being in talks with other occupants of our current predicament, it seems the best way to past time here between our semi regular stops is to take up a hobby or something of the likes. And considering I came here with practically nothing, [Not that Mystique needed much, yet she certainly had been missing her weapons until she was on board the Golden and had gotten access to guns again, sating her need to be constantly armed.] And I have been told my typical actions are not the most practical choices here, [There was a pause as she seemed to struggle with saying the next words, as if the entire idea disgusted her.] I would be interested to know what others do as hobbies or to past the time. [That may be the closest to her asking for help that most here are going to get out of her.]

I am willing to swap information. I may not be practiced in more mundane activities but I do have a wide knowledge on more specialized topics if someone wants practice on how to arm and protect themselves.

[ He had honestly expected her to dismiss him. She would be within rights and of course, Mystique knows what's best for herself. Charles couldn't force the connection he had with Raven on her.

But it really shows how a fresh start and a little kindness can go so far. Perhaps they'll never be friends, not with their strange history, but he is proud, deeply so. ]

It may not be a smart idea of Charles to contact her after the video she had just put out, her pride bruised a little that she in fact even said anything, let alone broadcast it for all to see and hear. Due to that, her tone was a little harsher than he really deserved, considering it was his words that pushed her to actually do something, not just sit around isolated in her room.] Charles.

There's no way for Raven to really deal with this properly, and for a long time she just stares at the device in front of her and considers her options. [Casting a critical eye over another she did not recognize from her linking images up to names, Mystique's gaze took in what it could via the video feed, but not dismissing Raven's comment yet as true or false. She knows that appearances were very misleading, and just because this girl didn't look 'the part' meant nothing in reality.]

It's an important skill, even if at first this place seems friendly. ['Kick ass', hm, it was like being around the Brotherhood boys again. Youth, ugh.]

There's no real point in her pretending to be something she's not in front of someone that knows who and what she is and, so, slowly, her body shifts. [Gym work does seem to be the over all consensus for those choosing to contact her, and while admirable to see individuals keeping up and not slacking off while on their little forced holiday, the mention of katas was far more interesting.] You're practiced in a particular form of fighting?

[Behind the screen, Erik gives long consideration to saying anything at all. He doesn't need to, and he's got enough on his plate contending with his own Mystique, now that's she's in the Fleet. Even so, he ought not ignore Mystique, no matter which world she's from.]

Reading, learning the engines, cooking. The latter is more an exercise in finding good enough supplies to do it with.

[While for most those would be good ideas, with the exception of learning how the ships worked they suggestions felt lost on Mystique. She did not read for pleasure and, well, cooking was certainly not her strong suit by any means. She got by enough to survive, and that's all she was interested in.

Then again, this was about trying new things. Ugh.]

I am starting to see that we do have a range of media available to us, and your suggestion on the engines is a good one.

[Hello excited and rather nervous young woman, you now have Mystique's yellow gaze locked in your direction. Yet she doesn't bring up the fact about Koala's staggered speech, looking past it to the content.] Cleanliness is important, considering the size of the ships we are in. [Mystique may not be the best choice of people for Koala to talk considering she was able to pick up, latch on, and manipulate people by using their own insecurities against them.

A good thing she's trying to behave then.] Far an improvement from the last group of people I was stuck living with.

I'm something of the same boat, but I'm finding a few things to keep my time...

Sparring, for one, if you can find someone - and I would be happy to spar with you if you like. I'm proficient in hand-to-hand defense and combat. There's also a library on the Iskaulit of you like reading, and right now on the planet there's some good museums and the War Games. I've made myself a Tri-Dimensional Chess Board to play games.

Entertainment, unfortunately, is very much of the 'make your own' kind here.

So I am starting to see. [Those words were accompanied with a sigh, glad she hadn't set her hopes too high on gaining anything interesting out of her broadcast beyond what she had already worked out for herself. It was rather disappointing, considering she was suppose to be trying to 'branch out' and try new things...
