[You would think someone was holding Mystique at gun point with the initial look she gave the camera, looking none too happy to be making this broadcast, but a huff of a sigh and roll of her eyes later and she managed to compose herself to a more neutral expression. She of course could fake a more fitting emotion easily, she was well versed in acting a part but since this wasn’t a mission she saw no point in pretending to be something she isn’t. Others would just have to deal with that fact.]

After being in talks with other occupants of our current predicament, it seems the best way to past time here between our semi regular stops is to take up a hobby or something of the likes. And considering I came here with practically nothing, [Not that Mystique needed much, yet she certainly had been missing her weapons until she was on board the Golden and had gotten access to guns again, sating her need to be constantly armed.] And I have been told my typical actions are not the most practical choices here, [There was a pause as she seemed to struggle with saying the next words, as if the entire idea disgusted her.] I would be interested to know what others do as hobbies or to past the time. [That may be the closest to her asking for help that most here are going to get out of her.]

I am willing to swap information. I may not be practiced in more mundane activities but I do have a wide knowledge on more specialized topics if someone wants practice on how to arm and protect themselves.

I have heard of them before, yes, [While she was not up on pop culture it was hard to not have heard of those weapons from their certain movies.] Though can't say I've had a chance to use one. They seem quite effective.

Yes, [That word is drawn out as her thoughts turned to her own lost weapons.] I had noticed that. My own at least were easy to replace, though I have not seen a sign of something that would even remotely take the place of your choice of weapon, short of talking to any individuals here that may be able to engineer something that could act in a similar manner.

Can't be done, unfortunately.

The core of a lightsaber is a kyber crystal, and you can't find one of those without a Jedi. And they're not about to let any of us out to go look for one.

That certainly does make it more difficult. [It was more an understatement than anything, considering it was the vital part of the weapon.] However I can only assume your practices with that weapon would translate over to other ones that may be available at a later point.

Well, I made a practice saber, but it's basically just a fancy-looking ironing rod. It'll burn you if you touch it, but it'll never cut through anything.

Translating lightsaber combat to sword combat is doable but a little difficult. Swords have their blades only on a particular side and angle, whereas a lightsaber can cut from any side or any angle. Staff fighting is actually the easier transition.

No, I wouldn't suppose it would. [Ahsoka raised a very good point and got Mystique's mind turning over the other options that she knew about, and just how powerful such a sword like a light saber would be then.

Yet also...] Though I suppose it does give new meaning to a double edge sword with the chances of injury to the user. I would believe that's where your katas come into practice then.

That's right. But to be honest, there's more to it than just constant training. A real lightsaber master uses the Force to guide him-- or her-- just as much as their eyes.

[The mention of the Force might be stretching Mystique's knowledge on the movies, anything beyond that being more than she took notice of. She had heard about it in relation to the universe, but that was about it.] The Force? This is an ability?

I guess you could look at it that way. The Force is the energy of the universe-- it flows through everything. You, me, the stars, plants on this planet.

Everyone can sense it in some way or another. People who get premonitions of loved ones in trouble, people who are good at understanding what others are feeling...

The only difference is, a Jedi can consciously tap into that energy.
