Yes, I'm Yuri. I'm a...communications officer? For some reason... [Seriously WHY.] I was just trying to say hi to everyone, since I suppose we'll all be living together from now on.

[Jennifer smiled.]

Not your usual skillset, huh? I'm Jennifer- I'm the ship's doctor, so you'll find me in the medbay a lot.

I don't really talk to people much. [Which is sort of contradicted by her going around and trying to talk to people right now, but shhh.]

Were you a doctor before you were sent here, or...? [or was she just thrust into the role like Yuri with communications?]

[Jennifer nodded understandingly.]

Sometimes, Atroma'll give people augments that don't match their personality or skills very well. I guess they find it funny. I got lucky, because I was a doctor before coming here, yes- and my augment's lab support.

[Yuri hesitates, wanting to ask more, but not certain how much Jennifer might be willing to actually share.] Where are you from, originally? [That seems a safe start, and Yuri's curious]

Mmmhmm. There's not a whole lot to like about Atroma, honestly.

I'm from Earth- originally from Wisconsin, if either of those places mean anything to you.

[Yuri looks instantly a little relieved; while they might not be from the same time or same world, they at least have a similar planet in common now]

Yes, actually. It's in America, right? I'm from Japan. [She won't bother naming where exactly-- if it wasn't Tokyo, most Westerners probably wouldn't know it anyhow.] I've been meeting people from all sorts of different, er... planets or worlds, I was wondering if I'd ever meet other people from Earth.

Oh! [She nodded affirmately to the question.] Yeah, sometimes it feels like people from Earth are few and far between, doesn't it? I either meet people from different worlds entirely, or they are from Earth but from a completely different time, so it might as well not be the same.
