[ The video starts with Charles sitting on his wheelchair, his hands neatly folded on his lap. He rubs faint circles on his legs for a few seconds, the only real sign of tension. ]

Hello. My names is Charles Xavier. I am a geneticist graduated from Oxford. I -- [ ran ] -- run a school in Westchester for the Gifted. Mutants. People with abilities. My focus is the training and control of abilities we do not always fully understand, abilities that are gifts but can often run amok.

[ He pauses, catching his second wind before continuing on, poised. ]

I am also a telepath with a full set of abilities in aiding the mind and extremely . . . proficient. I do not read minds without permission, because honestly, I really don't care.

[ Charles pauses again, wondering if he should say more and dismisses it. People can ask him if they need details - which they will. ]

If anyone would like to make use of my abilities and skills, they are certainly most welcome to. Confidentiality, of course, is key and you need not make anything public if you do not wish to. If you have any questions for me, the floor is open for you.

[ Charles shakes his head. He won't hold it against them. ]

They're allowed.

You're more forgiving than me.

[ His lips twitch. ]

I believe that is my "thing", so to speak.

I'm glad my things are less frustrating than that. [She gives him a little smile and then adjusts the feed for private.]

I met your sister.

[ His expression falters. Though Raven and Charles have made large steps towards mending their relationship, talking about Raven still felt like an open wound. ]

Not what you expected, I imagine.

[Open wound penetration is her secret mutant power. Raven seemed so shaken by the thought of a world without Charles Xavier that she basically figured all was good between them, so the expression surprises her. Maybe she needs Xavier's services to warn her what not to bring up with people. Or maybe she should just embrace small talk. Sure is nice outer space this time of year!]

I was expecting blue, but I'm not the one who has to be so visibly different.

She's still blue. But she prefers not to be on the Fleet.

[ It'll take time for Raven to warm up to the idea. ]

She mentioned that. It takes time to adjust to these places even if you have prior experience and she's a first timer.

Maybe you announcing yourself like this will make her feel more at ease.

Perhaps. Raven's experiences are very different from mine.

Yeah, I can imagine. [She's tried to picture what it is like for Kurt, but it's hard to really put yourself into someone else's shoes. Especially his since he doesn't usually wear any.]

...I didn't mean to catch you off guard before by bringing her up.

[ He shakes his head. ]

It's not -- It's not like that.

What is it like? [She doesn't mean to intrude, but that doesn't mean she isn't.]

She left home some time ago. We haven't seen her in a long time.

[ Sometimes seeing her now felt like a dream. ]

Oh... I'm sorry. [Sorry that there was a parting of family and that the reunion couldn't have been something made by choice.] And longer with the time in Kyrakios* I imagine.

(OOC: I basically just put letters together until it looks kind of like what I remember.)

Time is different there. The lack of memories and all. It was hard to tell how long the days were, sometimes.

[ He leans back. ] But she's not -- the same Mystique. Not the one you're familiar with.

Oh, I'm very aware she isn't the same one I'm familiar with. I'm good at that game. Lots of practice. [She's terrible at that game, forging connections with people she misses even if they might be dangerous. Then again, she's managed to see past her world's version and become friends with Hank. Not just "won't kill him" acquaintances, but actual friends.]

From what I've gathered, the other . . . Mystiques had very different lives.

[ They weren't Raven, not really. ]

As far as I know they didn't have brothers, but we all have different lives. [She's still Kitty even if she didn't have the life she was supposed to have with a living Charles Xavier in the world.]

It's not the life I ever wanted for her.

The one yours is leading or the ones the rest of the multiverse have because I'm guessing there is some variety there too. The other Mystique here doesn't really remind me of the one back home more than your Raven does. [Maybe a blend of the two, but she also can't say she knew the one at home that well. She was secretive and largely off on tasks away from the X-Men. What she knew best was her love for Kurt and Rogue. That counts for a lot in Kitty's book.]

Any of them, I suppose.

[ But he's made his peace with it. He sighs. ] It doesn't matter. Whatever she's chosen, it's her own path.

You know she was upset when I told her Xavier [She's not going to say "you" for this.] died in my world. [Seriously, telling people horrible things is her gift.]

Which is a weird way of me telling you she obviously cares about you a lot.

[ A brief smile passes through his face. ]

I know. I really do.

[ Erik loves him. Raven loves him. And he loves them back, deeply, strongly. But his sandcastle dreams of them being together with him have washed away long ago. ]

Good. Family is important. [The most important. But she can't think about that too deeply or it's just going to bring up a lot of feelings. It brings up too many as it is. She looks away for the moment.]
