Who: Charles Xavier + You
Broadcast: Video
Action: SS Heron
When: Right now!
[ The video starts with Charles sitting on his wheelchair, his hands neatly folded on his lap. He rubs faint circles on his legs for a few seconds, the only real sign of tension. ]
Hello. My names is Charles Xavier. I am a geneticist graduated from Oxford. I -- [ ran ] -- run a school in Westchester for the Gifted. Mutants. People with abilities. My focus is the training and control of abilities we do not always fully understand, abilities that are gifts but can often run amok.
[ He pauses, catching his second wind before continuing on, poised. ]
I am also a telepath with a full set of abilities in aiding the mind and extremely . . . proficient. I do not read minds without permission, because honestly, I really don't care.
[ Charles pauses again, wondering if he should say more and dismisses it. People can ask him if they need details - which they will. ]
If anyone would like to make use of my abilities and skills, they are certainly most welcome to. Confidentiality, of course, is key and you need not make anything public if you do not wish to. If you have any questions for me, the floor is open for you.

[With that he shuts off he feed. About fifteen or twenty minutes later, a shuttle from the Golden will be docking on the Heron. If there was a way to fix this problem, he really didn't want to wait on it, after all. So Sora steps out of the shuttle. He looks no more than fourteen or fifteen, and is rather short for even his age- not even hitting the five foot mark. He's nervous, but still friendly as he spots Charles and approaches]
Hey. Charles Xavier, right?

[ It doesn't surprise him that it's the youth who easily reach out, try new things. His younger students always had that ability. He extends his hand for Sora to shake. ]
no subject
Of course. It's nice to meetcha!
[After the handshake, he pulls back his hand and puts it in his pocket] So how do you look into my memories?
no subject
There isn't really a how. I simply can. Try to think of the incident and I'll take a closer look. How does that sound?
no subject
[An incident huh...he goes quiet as he starts trying to think up an incident. The memory of being the Marsiva comes up in his mind. Waking up on a strange vessel, with not a single other soul around. Scared, lost, confused- every strange noise makes him jump in fright. And each time he's startled, there's a feeling of a power surge right before a nearby light-fixture shatters in an exploding manner.]

It seems you have a gift. One you don't know how to control.
no subject
Yeah...it started about a little over a year ago. Powers aren't unheard of in my world, the last city I was in called them "Enlighten". But I don't think most are as...unstable as mine?

You should never stop feeling, but you don't want to do something you regret either.
no subject
But deep breaths and counting to ten...? Do you think that'll actually work?
no subject
Give it a try. If you still find that it's not working, we'll move onto other methods.
no subject
Okay. I'll give it a try. [He gives an affirming nod! Yeah! Trying something!!] How hard could counting to ten be?
no subject
See how it goes and let me know.
no subject
[There's a slight hesitation before he feels compelled to ask]
So...you really don't think there's anything wrong with me?
no subject
There's nothing wrong with you.

[Sora has to take a moment to let those words sink in. Truthfully? While Sora hasn't been blatantly told he was wrong for his powers, he always had the nagging sense that something's been off with him ever since it started. Losing his home, his friends, being sent to places he didn't fit in- and with powers that barely worked on top of it? Well, it was hard not to feel like it was something about him that was wrong.]
[But hearing someone tell him otherwise, sincerely? It was...it was a nice feeling. Even if it might take a bit for him to fully believe, it was good to hear. When he speaks, his voice is on the quieter side]
...Thanks. Really.
no subject
You're welcome. I know it helps to hear that.
no subject
It does, I'll admit. [He's honest, after all] It hasn't exactly been my best year.

Nah, not today. I'm sure you got enough to deal with right now as it is with people responding to the broadcast.
