[ The video starts with Charles sitting on his wheelchair, his hands neatly folded on his lap. He rubs faint circles on his legs for a few seconds, the only real sign of tension. ]

Hello. My names is Charles Xavier. I am a geneticist graduated from Oxford. I -- [ ran ] -- run a school in Westchester for the Gifted. Mutants. People with abilities. My focus is the training and control of abilities we do not always fully understand, abilities that are gifts but can often run amok.

[ He pauses, catching his second wind before continuing on, poised. ]

I am also a telepath with a full set of abilities in aiding the mind and extremely . . . proficient. I do not read minds without permission, because honestly, I really don't care.

[ Charles pauses again, wondering if he should say more and dismisses it. People can ask him if they need details - which they will. ]

If anyone would like to make use of my abilities and skills, they are certainly most welcome to. Confidentiality, of course, is key and you need not make anything public if you do not wish to. If you have any questions for me, the floor is open for you.

[Tyrion leaned in a little, looking thoughtful.] You seem like a man who has had a lot of experience with such things.

I suppose. My powers allow me to feel things the way anyone else would.

Do you feel them more? Because you have access to others thoughts and emotions.

[ He runs a hand through his hair. ]

I feel it strongly. I hesitate to call it more. It depends on how many people I am connected to at that moment.

[Another rub of his beard, as he considered that.]

I will admit, I have a greater connection with a larger group of people - but I have more effect when I am speaking to one person alone.

I believe that's called charisma.

[ He shakes his head. ] It's close, but it's not like my gift.

Ah yes ... I do seem to have quite a bit of that.

[One corner of his mouth twisted.] We do not have to speak of your gifts any longer, if you do not wish to, Professor Xavier.

[ Charles shakes his head. It is certainly odd discussing this with a man who looks like Trask. But Charles isn't going to move forward if he isn't upfront about his abilities. ]

I certainly don't mind. As I said, I'm open to queries.

Oh good.

[Because Tyrion can put forth queries all day.]

So why are you offering your services?

Why?

[ That question was surprising. ] Because it's useful. A few people have already asked for my help. It simply made sense to go public about it.

Well, aren't you afraid of someone abusing someone else with your abilities?

That . . . would be difficult to do.

[ Almost impossible, but Charles won't dismiss it out of hand. ] I would know if that was the case.

[He thinks about that, before he smiles.]

Remind me not to try to seduce women in front of you.

[ Charles barely smothers his smile. ]

I'll be sure not to ruin your chances.

I would greatly appreciate it ... I have much better luck here and now than I did back in my own time, but one should always look out for possible problems in the future. A mind-reading man might put the damper on such things.

If it helps, I think I have more important things to do then to dent a man's romantic escapades.

Mmm, you mean the other people who have asked for your help?

Among other things. I need to protect their privacy, so I'm afraid I can't say more on the subject.

I shall not ask any more on it. [He hummed slightly, tapping his fingers together.] So you cannot read thoughts across ships - what about within your own ship? Or if we are on a planet?

Within my ship? Certainly, if I choose to. On a planet . . .

[ He has to think about this. He rarely does long range telepathy without Cerebro, since Cerebro is quicker. Also revealing Cerebro would be premature at this stage. ]

I would say around 250 miles.

[And now, watch Tyrion's eyes widen to the size of mis-matched plates.]

Ah ... that is ... quite impressive.

[ Yeah, he knows. ]

[One eyebrow lifts.]
