[ The video starts with Charles sitting on his wheelchair, his hands neatly folded on his lap. He rubs faint circles on his legs for a few seconds, the only real sign of tension. ]

Hello. My names is Charles Xavier. I am a geneticist graduated from Oxford. I -- [ ran ] -- run a school in Westchester for the Gifted. Mutants. People with abilities. My focus is the training and control of abilities we do not always fully understand, abilities that are gifts but can often run amok.

[ He pauses, catching his second wind before continuing on, poised. ]

I am also a telepath with a full set of abilities in aiding the mind and extremely . . . proficient. I do not read minds without permission, because honestly, I really don't care.

[ Charles pauses again, wondering if he should say more and dismisses it. People can ask him if they need details - which they will. ]

If anyone would like to make use of my abilities and skills, they are certainly most welcome to. Confidentiality, of course, is key and you need not make anything public if you do not wish to. If you have any questions for me, the floor is open for you.

Not that I am involved in it in any way. I mean I know a meta-human but other than that.

But in case said meta-human comes here - do you help them enhance their abilities? I mean, to make them stronger or...faster?

I prefer people with abilities. Since, of course, the people themselves may not be human at all.

[ This is some abysmal lying. ]

It depends. If what is holding them back is psychological, then yes. I could feasibly enhance their powers.

-- That is disturbingly true. I mean. Not in a bad way but in the way that the last non-human with the abilities on my earth was a huge, evil psychic gorilla which was really, absolutely terrifying.

[ Charles waits, expecting some other detail.

I know. He went all King Kong around town, controlling people's minds, living in sewer, being...generally evil and creepy and awful, trying to create an evil-psychic-gorilla-army.

[ Charles forces a smile, not sure if he should be amused or worried that psychics in Cisco's universe are evil gorillas. ]

I doubt that'll be the case with me.

definitely, no doubt. but if there were an evil meta-gorilla stalking the corridors, possesing people's minds - would your, um - you know. Awesome, psychic powers be able to...stop it?

[ biting on his pen as he thinks ]

because that would be really helpful than me building psychic-proof headbands.

I can't say, having never fought evil psychic gorillas before.

[ The idea of psychic-proof headbands is a little galling though. ] But I think you'll be fine.

Right. That's...good. I mean, yeah, if someone had to have telepathic abilities which I think are the most terrifying of all super-abilities, at least it's -

[ pointing to him ]

someone who looks -- relatively sane and not evil.

I'll . . . take that as a compliment.

[ Because there's literally nothing else to do in this situation. ]

It sounds like you've had a lot of run-ins with these meta-humans.

Oh, well. I help one, you know, fight the other, evil ones. Some of them got their abilities but they were criminals to begin with, others went cray. The one I help protects the city against the less than savory ones.

[ firm nod ]

I'm on the tech side of the operation.
