What happens if you accidentally swallow... "toothpaste"?

It says here to... [A pause as he reads the back of the tube again.] ... "Call Space Poison Control". Why would someone use poison to clean their teeth?

Toothpaste has a chemical called flouride in it, which is good for your teeth, but it can be poisonous in large doses, so they still have to put the warning on there. I promise, though, the amount you swallowed is not going to hurt you.

How much would hurt someone?

It'd take several tubes of toothpaste before there was lasting damage, but anything more than the little bit you use for brushing might cause stomach aches or a rash.

I think it would be a bit hard to swallow several tubes on accident.
