[When the feed first turns on, it doesn't seem to have been done so intentionally. Nothing's moving on the screen, not much is happening. The lights are dimmed, and there's a pink-haired girl with fox ears and a big fluffy tail staring blankly at the windows

In fact, she's so still it almost seems hard to tell that it's a video and not a still image, until she finally says something, to herself since she's unaware of the camera.]

Once again, to be taken from their side before the end... I suppose this is punishment.

[But rather than expanding on that, she just flicks her tail idly, and it knocks the communicator down, ending the feed in a crash of static.]

[When the feed starts back up a couple hours later, there's a broad smile across her face, perky and peppy enough to make it seem like the previous broadcast never happened.]

Sent from the moon to debut among the stars, the lovely fox wife, Servant: Caster makes her appearance! ♥

... Or so I'd like to say, but honestly, this is the strangest summoning I've ever been through. I think I've gotten the basics, like that there's no Holy Grail War, or any Grail itself, for that matter. Honestly, I'm surprised, but I'm not unhappy to be summoned to a place like this! The SF trend isn't really my thing, though. I know that's what's popular these days, but really, the decoration could use some work, but it beats that fake school. And I'm not sure why someone like me would get summoned for a reality TV show...

But, anyway, all of that is beside the point. It seems like my contract is gone, so... Does anyone know what happens to a Servant without a Master here? I think this is something of an unprecedented situation.

Is that so? But you know, the contract between Master and Servant is similar to that of a husband and wife, is it not? To support and protect one another until the end.

A little bit, but it wasn't - I mean, that's what we wanted, but it wasn't a romance at all. It was... I don't really know how to explain it.

[ She's so pink right now. ]

But, then. You are a Master without a Servant, and I am a Servant without a Master.

That's right.

[ There's a bit of hesitation and she shifts awkwardly, her bed creaking. ]

[Her voice turns a little bit hesitant, though she tries to keep it sounding cheerful.]

I'm not sure! I'm not an Archer, I don't have Independant Action at all. So I should have been gone already without a Master, so maybe I can?

But... I'm still a spirit. Existing still takes energy. I'm not sure what would happen when my magical energy runs out.

I know that in the Drabwurld the Servants were tied to their shards, so it kept them going even when they didn't have a Master. Most of them did, of course, because it helped with their powers, but...

[ She can't help but be worried. ]

The Atroma would have thought of that, wouldn't they?

Shards being...?

... They might have thought of it, yes. But that may not mean anything. After all, humans have anyways wanted to hunt us foxes for our beautiful fur.

Oh! They were powerful shards of a giant gem that all of us had inside of us. It kept Servants powerful without needing a Master, and it was what left us connected to our own worlds.

[ But - no, she doesn't like the sound of that. ]

I don't think anyone is going to hunt you here.

Worlds...? Is that how your Holy Grail War worked? It sounds complicated.

[She huffs.]

Maybe not! But, I wouldn't put anything past the ones responsible for all of this.

It wasn't actually a Holy Grail War. We were brought there for a different one, and Diarmuid and I found each other and became friends. I didn't summon him - the others weren't really summoned either.

[ But Hermione sounds a little protective, now - ]

No one will hurt you, don't worry.

Diarmuid? That Fianna knight?

Well, of course not! After all, I'm no longer the weakest Servant- In fact, I'm the strongest!

[ Maybe she shouldn't go around saying his name, but he never seemed to mind too much... ]

I think that must be the Diarmuid. He was my Partner, and a very good knight.

[As a Servant, of course she's very familiar with the legends of other Servants, with how long she's spent in the Moon Cell's database. She couldn't recognize them on sight, of course, and she has to leave deducing their opponent's true names to her Master, but she does know the legend.

But, she's the biggest proof of how legends can be totally wrong.]

Well... It's not like I don't have weaknesses, but I don't think it would be wise to start talking about those publicly like this. There's a looooot of watchers, and there may be more Holy Grail Wars, after all.

The Drabwurld really wasn't like any kind of legend. It was a bit of a mess, honestly.

[ Hermione saw Diarmuid's legend in front of her, memories he had shared with her, and she doesn't want to think about it or dwell on it. It's a little bit too hard right now.

All she can do is focus on the girl talking to her. ]

No, probably not. You should be okay here, though, especially once you're put on a ship.

Something unlike a legend? That's hard to believe, in a way. There's legends about everything.

[She nods, though it can't be seen.]

I hope so. Especially since there's no Grail, no Moon Cell, and no other Servants here... Once my Master situation is taken care of, it will be just like a vacation! A nice relaxing trip for the winner.

The Drabwurld was the beginning of all worlds. Everything started there, and all the other worlds became real because of the shards that broke and created them.

[ It's a rather awkward concept, she thinks. ]

What kind of Master do you think you'd like?

... Hm. Is that so.

[That story doesn't sit well with her, but she could never voice why. But she is still the facet of a goddess, and the sun at that. She watched the Earth being formed. But... Other religions have their own viewpoints. Maybe that's simply that world's legend.]

I am happy to serve anyone, as long as they are a good person.

That's what we learned in all the stories and all the histories. There was nothing that made me think it wasn't true, either - not when our Shards were proof, real and alive inside of us.

[ It wasn't comfortable at first, and she huffs a little noise before she settles back in her seat. ]

There'll be someone here for you, I have no doubts.

[She decides to just ignore that story, for now, and ignore that little twitch of fear. If there is someone here, will it matter? Even if there is, if she doesn't find them before she runs out of energy...

... Even if there is, that Master won't be Hakuno.

She doesn't want to dwell on that part.]

Oh, I see. Are you worried you aren't my type? Hm, I can understand your anxiety, so overcome with my beauty that you won't even show your face, but fear not!

[ She laughs a soft noise. ]

Two Servants said they'd let me be their Master if things had worked out, so I'm sure we'd work well together. I'm only doing using my voice because I wasn't sure how you'd feel about an ex-Master -

[ And so she swaps to video. ]

[For just the bare slightest of moments, as soon as the video turns on, Tamamo freezes.]

[And she stops herself. It's not Hakuno. It's obviously not Hakuno. But, similar hair, the eyes, the strong gaze... To someone already missing her Master this much, of course something so simple was all it would take to make her see a phantom of her.

... She should know by now. She's lost Twice already, and Emperor Toba before that. She could move on before. She needs to move on again now. Time always goes on, and always, Tamamo will be the one left behind. She's made her peace with this already- It's the result of going against providence, the result of a goddess wishing to serve a mortal.

For now, she just needs to ignore the pain, and salvage this situation. Don't make this girl ask too many questions. The smile gets plastered back firmly on her face.]

Man, is that all? I know an ex-Master surviving is an impossibility normally, but my Master made it happen to save someone else once, anyway, so we had another ex-Master helping us. I'm totally used to it!

Not all Servants are like you, but that's alright. It's part of learning, isn't it?

[ Gilgamesh hadn't been like Saber, and Saber hadn't been like the other Saber that had joined the Seelie, and neither of them had been like Diarmuid. It was strange, but - why wouldn't they be different? People are different, so it should be the same for Servants as well. She even remembers Gawain lifting her up when she slept and it makes her smile. ]

But I'm glad it's not a problem.

That's true. I'm a unique Heroic Spirit for a lot of reasons!

[... They must have very, very different impressions of Gawain.]

As long as you're not my enemy, then there's no problem. A Master is an enemy, but a former Master is just someone who survived the same war. ... Though, from the sounds of it, you weren't even that.

[ Hermione shakes her head, lifting her hand to show off her scarred Command Seals. ]

Not a Master anymore, so we can be friends, right? Even if I didn't fight in a real Grail War.

Friends... 'Friends', hm...

[Her tail twitches around behind her, a bit anxiously.]

Are you sure you wish to be friends? I am, after all, still a Heroic Spirit, and one who still hides her name at that. I might have a legend of betrayal and murder behind me, you know?
