Captain's Log 03 - Landing Party

Tests have been run, data has been gathered, packaged, looked over, highlighted with all sorts of colored sharpies. There is only so much the data can prove. What's needed now is an actual investigation, getting the final clue to a puzzle that, Kirk thought, they were running very short of time on.

Which was how he ended up down on the surface of the toxic moon, in front of the nearest terraformer.

Time to go find some answers.

<sub>[ ooc: Since I didn't want to flood the comm, it can be assumed that Kirk announced he would be going to explore the terraformers and asked if anyone wanted to come and form an expedition party. So, if you want to come, feel free to jump in.

"Oh, I don't know about that, Tyrion," he shook his head. "I just try and be a good man, that's all. But that you, for your reassurance. You are quite good at it."

"I cannot possibly win in a fist fight - but when you need words, I am your man, ser." He pauses, then adds with good humor, "Just not in the fashion that you wish. You shall have to pine over me."

"Ah, there is always that one that gets away, is there not?" he sighed, pressing a hand to his chest in mock forlornness.

"Always. The brightest star that you cannot touch." He bows his head in turn. Honestly, they should both go to the stage.

He laughed and bumped Tyrion - though it was more with his hip and thigh than it was with his shoulder, but that was the intent behind it. "I shall find your star and hold you forever in my heart, Tyrion." On stage indeed.

Tyrion's grin turned downright boyish, his mis-matched eyes gleaming with humor. "Well, that's all you'll hold, Jim. Don't worry, I am sure you shall find another handsome, charming dwarf to warm your ... heart."

"Ah, but never one such as you, Tyrion. All others shall be as shadow to your light." You see what you have done, Tyrion? Do you see?

"I shall glow as brightly as I can for you, so you know how bright I am in comparison." He has seen what he's done, and he's pleased to keep this amusement alive.

On such a bleak planet, it was a bright spot, and Kirk was happy for it as well. It felt good to be a bit silly. It was a part of himself he had to keep more in check when he had been a captain - not because it was not allowed, but the Captain could not indulge quite as freely as others.

"So long as I can find you in the night sky, I think I shall find myself content."

"Well, come on then. Your bright star is just at the control center now." Tyrion jerked his chin a little, as the doors loomed. "Shall we?"

"No better time like the present," he said, growing a bit more solemn as he went to the entry pad at the side. "Into the breach we go."

Tyrion looked up the tower, his voice soft, "And where dragons fear to tread..."
