we're still stuck on this poison shithole and everyone hates it so let's talk about something that doesn't 100% suck for once okay?

what's the first thing you're going to do when you make it home and out of the void of space

Maybe I could do it here.

:)

I don't mind the cold or the void. The unknown can be conquered. And there are worse places to look at the stars than space.

Don't let this upset you. This isn't a bad thing.

:)
paraclete: (everybody loves you)

I know what isn't bad for me. I am with what I consider to be beloved. I was able to meet you, and other people. There are things I would never have done if I hadn't been here. Life is progress, and new experiences encourage that progress. So I am living.

The next step is for you to also find the things that aren't so bad.
paraclete: (charity dance with me)

"Nothing is good"?

Does the idea that maybe that isn't true intimidate you?
paraclete: (the clear vowels rise like balloons.)

A change for the better is still a change. When you're used to something bad, something good is the unknown. That can be frightening.

Besides that, being wrong can mean having your perception challenged. That's also uncomfortable. When you believe that things are a certain way, and you come to find that they are not, what does it say about you? About what you know and have learned?

Don't you think?
paraclete: (and days turn into weeks)

Would you like to tell me?
paraclete: (so precise and so pristine)

[That hits closer to home than he'd thought it would. He's glad she can't see him wince.]

That shouldn't stifle hope completely.
paraclete: (all of my powers, day after day)

If you don't have hope, you don't have anything. Hope precedes faith.

"I hope I wake up tomorrow." "I hope I can do it." "I hope that person loves me."

"I will wake up tomorrow." "I can do it." "That person loves me."

I have hope for you. Because of that, I have faith in you. So, I'm able to believe that there's a good thing waiting for you.

And, Opal, it hurts more to have no hope at all.
paraclete: (to hold such darling wrecks)

It is late. I'm sure you need to rest.

We can talk about it whenever you want to, though.

Actually, I don't! But it's nice to do.

Any time, Opal. :)
