And she's - we haven't seen each other in a while. But even when we first met, one of the first thing she noticed was that I had no idea how to talk to a woman.

I think the missing link here is the fact I didn't really always - been like this.

When I enlisted, I was the 90 pound kid, I was mostly hit by bullies every day while I was growing up. Couldn't stand them, always had to speak up. I still can't.

How'd you go from 90 pounds to -- [ pointing to him ] super magical alien steroids? [ he's trusting, not stupid. ]

It was a serum that was originally developed to help create better soldiers to fight the war but - the man who developed it was killed a little after I received the treatment.

[ a man he still misses, one that saw something in him. the first to see something in him ]

He was a good man, he wanted to make sure the serum he developed will go only to people who wanted to do good in the world.

[ but why does every conversation turn into 'everyone is dead'?

he sighs, shoulders slumping and face softening. he doesn't think steve would joke about something like that, that's messed up. ]

I'm sorry. [ it's starting to feel like his catchphrase on this show. ]

It's fine. It gave a chance to help the world in a very dark hour.

[ perhaps its darkest yet. terrible things have happened but the war - the war is something steve will never be able to be free of. ]

but what I wanted to say is that I know what it means to be the little guy. Girls never looked my way twice but Peggy -

[ he smiles down at his comm ]

My - friend. She's not like anyone else I've ever met, she never was.

I wanted to get her flowers but this moon isn't really good with flowers that can be taken outside of a greenhouse.
