[ The feed doesn't kick on until one of them is moving. Two separate people on Marsiva's hospitality deck, one clean cut and dressed in a rather sharp business suit while the other looks a bit rough and tumble in his polo and jeans and multiple piercings in his eyebrow, cartilage, lobe, etc., but they seem to have come together after waking. Jordan, the clean cut one, has his arms around Alex, the rough but handsome one who looks STARTLINGLY FAMILIAR, from behind and a head on his shoulder. ]

What the fuck—?? Get off of me, stupid fucking pixie.

No. I'm looking at something. [ And it's true, he has his head tilted and a hand comes up to hold Alex's ear aside, and Jordan just huffs lightly before he lets go and holds on tight. ] How long were we asleep?

I don't care, leave me alone. [ Alex just reaches up and smacks Jordan's hands aside and growls. Not a very pleasant one, this guy is. ] What do I look like, your goddamn wristwatch? I have no fucking clue.

[ Jordan ain't even bothered. ] Are you hungry? Has it been long?

Ugh, I'm fine. Maybe if you stopped messing with my ear, you'd fucking notice this.

I've already stopped, sugarplum.

[ And he just finally looks around and. what. what is this place. where are they. ] The fuck are we? Hey, pixie bitch, the fuck did you take us? [ BECAUSE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY JORDAN'S FAULT, RIGHT? ]

... Alex, we've been here since we woke up. You know as much as I do, so why don't we look around together? [ Meaning he isn't letting you go, so there. ]

[ He stumbles a bit, then just sighs like this is inconveniencing him (it is), and tilts his head to regard Alex. There's something of an edge to him too but he isn't really letting it show. Something about this whole place feels wrong, there's an itch in the back of his head that isn't real and he is out of control for the first time in a long time. But he doesn't show it. ]

So I don't understand sarcasm and you don't understand rhetorical questions. Trust me, I've got that down in my notes now. Shall we?

I ignore your rhetorical questions because rhetorical questions are bullshit and why do they exist if you're not supposed to answer them.

[But hey, he's grabbing Jordan's hand and dragging him along because he's the big bad vampire and Jordan is the slightly smaller not as bad pixie.]

[ But that's amusement and Jordan is moving along to walk with Alex and his control slides a little more firmly back into place. ]

[ Jordan squeezes his hand with a well-timed tweak, meaning Alex is hearing that motion as much as feeling it. ] As if I'd insult my most precious belonging.

Everything is very immaculate, but it's all so... clinical. No one lives here, I'd bet my shoes on it.

[ Case in point: he loves his goddamn shoes. ]

[there we go. there have been too many people being super calm upon arrival, this seems like a more reasonable response to waking up in a strange place]

I don't know how long you've been asleep, exactly, but you've been taken to somewhere new. While you're in no danger, you won't be able to return home right away.

[Dorian watches the broadcast, and then watches it again, five different kinds of confused, but fascinated. This is...well, they appear to be a couple of some sort. It was odd, the realization that struck him that perhaps others worlds were different than even the South. Perhaps there was a world where he could dare to love someone, and for them to love him completely.

But this is Dorian, so he just poses a question to get the answer he wants.]

Are you two a couple? Together, romantically speaking.

[ Reluctant as he is to do so, Jordan breaks away from Alex at the start of a broadcast on a nearby terminal. What? Interesting. ]

Why is that? Where is this new place?

[ Oh, that's an interesting question. Isn't it obvious? Jordan doesn't disentangle from Alex this time, just looks over to the console and tilts his head to settle against Alex's whether the grumpy vampire likes it or not. ]

Yes, of course. He's mine.

...can you tell me more about your world? What is it like? Are you always so open, in public?

[He feels like a man drowning who has found something to grab onto. He's curious, beyond curious, he's fascinated.]

What the fuck do you mean we can't return home right away?

[I'm so sorry, Nunnally.]

[Just gonna ignore that Jordan is being his weird pixie self and getting clingy. Yep.]

What does it fucking look like? Of course we're a goddamn couple. I'm going to marry his obnoxious pixie ass someday.

Of course we are. Anyone who has a problem doesn't deserve to even be seen out in public.

[ Jordan's exaggerating, but to him it's honest truth. Anything that makes sense to him is clearly more logical than anything grays might come up with, and that includes being able to love his love in the open. ]

[Dorian blinks, surprised at how matter of factly it's stated. Men, marrying each other? Getting the law involved? That it was even legal was a shock, a pleasant one, and his expression softens a bit.

It feels like hope. An odd sort of hope, that perhaps he could have something like that, one day.]

No, no problem. Perhaps the opposite. Is marriage between men common in your homeland?

We've all be kidnapped from various worlds, and brought to this fleet of ships to be... filmed. From what we've been told, we're part of an inter-galactic reality program.

[ Jordan takes that in, absorbs it and lets it process through to the pertinent bits he actually cares about. He ignores the impossibility and tries to sort out the truth of what this girl is trying to get at. ]

So by ships you mean spaceships and not the sea sort. A fleet of spaceships used for the purpose of filming unwilling passengers... that's actually pretty clever.

Various worlds, though. How do you mean that?

Weeks? Months? And nobody's found a fucking way home yet? That's bullshit.

And as for worlds... [hm...] I'm not quite sure that I understand the details of it either, but we all seem to originate from vastly different planets with different ways of life. There are many people here who hail from Earth, but everyone remembers a different sort of Earth. Some people comes from homes that have magic, while some would consider magic to be a mere fairy tale.

Fairy tales are all in the eye of the beholder, really. What would make that one person the authority? [ Fairy tales: totally his domain here. ] I understand. And this show... are we popular?
