[Ahsoka is wandering around outside with her usual air filtration mask on, but something is different-- obviously different. This isn't the sixteen-maybe-seventeen year old girl of yesterday. This is a pre-teen. And she seems lost.]

... Skyguy? ... Master Kenobi? I know you guys are around! You can come out now...! "Prank the padawan" isn't funny any more...

[She shudders.] This planet is giving me the creeps.

[The video is simple: a young, familiar alien graces the screen, except... something's off. Way off. It's not just that her clothes are different-- she's shorter, horns smaller, too. When she talks, her voice is more high pitched, and the cadence different too. Less... calm.]



Hey! Is everyone just okay with the fact that we can't go outside without air filters?! What sort of condition is this for people to live in? What's being done to help the local inhabitants? Or move them off-world?

[Ahsoka raises her eyebrow. Why does Anakin feel so far away? And why does their bond feel so weird? Obi-Wan and Padmé briefed her on the situation-- sort of-- but it doesn't feel right.]

Master? [For a second, she isn't sure how to respond to that-- her mind goes blank. Unsure. And it shows on her face. Instead, all she can think to blurt out is--]

[ Did he really raise Ahsoka to be that observant. Or is it her natural ability? Questions, so many questions. He chooses not to let his discomfort with this situation show on his face and keeps a professional yet concerned look. ]

[ And much angrier! ]

Has it really been two years for you?

[It's not that she doesn't trust Obi-Wan-- she does. She just needs to hear it from Anakin himself. Dismay is present both on her face and in her voice. The thought of being a whole two years younger than everyone around her is used to is daunting.]

[ He knows what Obi-Wan would say to that. Part of him wants to say it too. But he's curt and wastes no time ]

[ He's speechless for a moment. All the memories of those three years cumulates to watching her as she leaves, the feeling of disappointment as she walks away and the resentment he felt for her refusing to come back. Their eventual reunion here. Their last argument.

He dips his head for a moment then shows Ahsoka a smiles she would be more familiar with - boyish and confident but not overt, as if he's trying to hide it in a corner so no one could see the flaw of his arrogance. ]

Don't worry, Snips. I know you won't. I have three years on you, remember?

[resnipstance]

Hey-- that's cheating! [She says it with a grin, though. It's good to know that Anakin has such faith in her, and her spirits can't help but be lifted.]

I guess I'll just have to catch up.

[sandhate]

It's not cheating, and you know it.

[ He sounds so much more stern than he meant to be. The normal teenage Ahsoka would know the difference. Force, she was so young. It makes him dizzy to even think about her that young. ]

... Don't grow up too fast, Padawan. [ A beat ] Some lessons are more difficult to learn when you've grown older.

[resnipstance]

[Well that's obviously a reference to something that happens in the future if she ever saw one.]

[ Her whining, bratty questions. Now, that's one thing he doesn't miss. ]

There were a few moments where I thought my lessons had finally taken hold. But you're harder to teach, too stubborn and willful than most.
