[Ahsoka is wandering around outside with her usual air filtration mask on, but something is different-- obviously different. This isn't the sixteen-maybe-seventeen year old girl of yesterday. This is a pre-teen. And she seems lost.]

... Skyguy? ... Master Kenobi? I know you guys are around! You can come out now...! "Prank the padawan" isn't funny any more...

[She shudders.] This planet is giving me the creeps.

[The video is simple: a young, familiar alien graces the screen, except... something's off. Way off. It's not just that her clothes are different-- she's shorter, horns smaller, too. When she talks, her voice is more high pitched, and the cadence different too. Less... calm.]



Hey! Is everyone just okay with the fact that we can't go outside without air filters?! What sort of condition is this for people to live in? What's being done to help the local inhabitants? Or move them off-world?

That means I got a decade on you till you get older again. [Finn flashes a grin at her.] Course, you got all that Jedi training. Are you still good with a lightsaber?

[Ahsoka looks almost insulted.]

What do you think I am, a youngling? Of course I'm good with a lightsaber.

[forcesensitive]

[Finn holds up his hands helplessly for a moment before returning them to the shuttle controls. She looks like a youngling to him./...]

Honestly, I don't know when you learn all that. Never met any Jedi before I came here.

[resnipstance]

Never? Wow...

Your planet must be pretty remote.

[forcesensitive]

I wish. More like--I never got the opportunity. I mean, we were pretty isolated for a while, but I've been traveling more lately.

[resnipstance]

Oh yeah? Like where?

[forcesensitive]

Ever heard of Jakku?

[resnipstance]

That dustbowl? What's there to see over there? I heard it's even worse than Tatooine...

[forcesensitive]

I know, right? But my friend's droid got lost there, and then my other friend had to go back for--she never did tell me what. Anyway, places like that you don't see too many Jedi.

[resnipstance]

I'll say...

[forcesensitive]

And the rest of the time, when I wasn't in backwater junkyards, we spent out in the Unknown Reaches. So--yeah.

[He grins at her.]

It's good to have Jedi around.

[resnipstance]

What were you doing all the way out there?

[forcesensitive]

It's--where I'm from. All I knew for a while.

[He shrugs; it's the truth, just not the whole truth.]

Anyway, after I met my friends and we finally got away from Jakku, things got better.

[resnipstance]

[ Ahsoka nods. ]

Good. Friends make everything better, huh.

[forcesensitive]

It does. And you got friends here too, you know. There's a lot of good people on the Fleet.

[Oh look, they're getting closer to the core terraformer. Finn points it out.]

Okay, see that? The control center's inside, so we gotta land outside and walk.

[resnipstance]

Great! [Ahsoka unbuckles as they land, ready for action as always.]

Finally, let's see what this is all about. Lead the way.

[forcesensitive]

[The nearest landing spot was a little far away, though the terraformer is visible in the distance as it's so large. The path to it leads through some dense jungle and down into a crater.]

So, far as we know, everything worked right in the beginning. Then somewhere along the line, all the terraformers started making things toxic. They're under the control of this main one, though. The central processor isn't any kind of computer I've ever seen--you'll see it when we get there, it's really weird. But we think this information the rest of the fleet found before they got here would work as a new template.

[resnipstance]

Huh. It sounds like some kind of bug...

But there's no way it could be as simple as that, right? If it's taken them this long to figure it out...

[forcesensitive]

[Finn nods.] Exactly. That and I think the tech is so old they don't know how to really work it anymore.

[Not that it looks worn-down or anything, but it's definitely the kind of problem they'd run into in their own galaxy - tech that's been there so long it would take a specialist to figure out, while everyone else just takes it for granted.]

[resnipstance]

The tech here is already old! Our ships don't even have hyperdrives, or nav computers! I checked!

[forcesensitive]

Oh, I know. [The lack of hyperdrives is probably the most frustrating part about these ships.] But I think that's because our little ships are just satellites around the Marsiva. You know, like non-escort fighters. The tech over there is more advanced than in our ships.
