[ The video starts suddenly, with Caitlin sitting straight up, eyes open and wide with fear.

More than what's warranted with waking up in a strange place.

Her head bows, her eyes going directly to her wrists. It seems she's checking both of them, rubbing absently at them, as if she expected to find something. (Shackles or handcuffs, that's what she's looking for.) If she's reassured there's nothing there, she certainly doesn't look it. When she looks back up, her gaze sweeping around the room, she's trying to place where she is, what's happened. This isn't Barry's lab at CCPD, it isn't STAR Labs, and it definitely isn't Zoom's lair.

It's a few minutes before she looks right into the camera, her head tilting with curiosity. ] Hello?

[ Then the feed cuts out. ]

[ The text follows about ten minutes later. ]

This is going to sound odd, but: whoever or whatever brought me here, thank you. I need to get back to Central City, though.

[ Kara caught the video, and her interest is piqued by the text that follows it ]

So, a lot of what you're going to hear is very weird. Sorry about that; none of us really have control over that.

But hey, you're from Central City? I have friends from Central City. One of them is even here. Maybe you know him?

Er, not that everyone from the same city knows each other. That would be like.... pretty ridiculous to expect. And that's even assuming you're from the same Earth, you know?

Weird how? I'm somewhat used to weird.

Yes, I'm from Central City. [ From the same Earth. She definitely has Caitlin's attention. ]

Would these friends from Central City have mentioned "Earth-1"?

Infinite Earths weird?

Yeah. A little geo-centric if you ask me, but I guess you can name it whatever you want.

My name's Kara. Do you mind if we switch to video? It'd be easier to explain rather than typing it all out.

I think I've heard weirder. Wait 'til you find out what you're here to do.

No, I don't mind.

[ She looks marginally less afraid, but she hasn't moved from her spot on the bed. ]

I'm Caitlin. [ A beat. ] Harry keeps reminding us at home that his world is Earth-1 to him, and ours is his Earth-2. I suppose it's all relative. Especially if there are Infinite Earths.

Good to know that I'm still the least shocking, no matter where I am.

Are you keeping me in suspense?

[ she's greeted with a warm smile ]

That's how Barry explained it, anyway.

[ let's see if that gets any reaction ]

Barry?

[ Her voice wavers. How has she met Barry? Jay said— She shakes her head and swallows hard. ]

Is Barry here?

[he also saw the video, and it was concerning enough to make him reply]

It doesn't sound that odd. Are you alright?

No, sorry.

[ she says it quickly. she wanted confirmation but she doesn't want to upset Caitlin ]

But Cisco is. Actually.

OK- get ready. You're here to be a contestant in a reality show.

I'm okay.

[ She isn't, but she's not going to say any different unless pressed. ]

Just disoriented, I think.

[he won't press. He understands the need to appear "fine" so, so well]

I'm afraid that's normal. I can explain some things once you're settled? I don't want to overwhelm you right away.

[ She blinks hard, her eyes watery. Of course Barry isn't here. He couldn't possibly be. ]

Cisco. [ There's some relief in her expression. ] Good. I — better here than there.

Please tell me that's a terrible joke.

[ she smiles, her voice gentle ]

He talks about you a lot, actually. He's going to be over the moon, figuratively and literally speaking.

But hey, there's something I want to tell you about, because I don't know what your exact situation is but you should probably know.

My best friend, Winn, is here. He's like Cisco's Earth-whatever soulmate, but that's... actually not the point. Listen, I remember more from home than Winn does, and so maybe don't expect Cisco to be up-to-date with what you know? Or vice versa? Because you seem to have a pretty different impression than what I've heard him talk about so far. And when I met Barry, it was all he could do to get back to your Earth as fast as possible.

Is everything okay?

I think getting any more settled than I currently am is going to take way too long. Don't worry. It takes a bit to overwhelm me.

That's true. I'm sorry in advanced, it'll sound a little unbelievable.

But right now, you're in outer space. On a spaceship called the Marsiva. It's where everyone who first arrives wakes up.

[ At the mention of Cisco talking about her, there's something of a smile. ]

Different points in the timeline. [ It's the first thing she's said that has any focus behind it. Something familiar for her to hold on to. ] I still don't understand how you met Barry. We closed all the breaches, and those only led to Earth-2, so —

[ Lightbulb moment. ] The tachyon enhancer. I knew I saw a blip in his readings, but I thought maybe it was just that he was moving faster than he ever has. Like when he was first struck by lightning and the hospital's EKG could only register him as a flatline.

[ She pauses for a breath. ] I-I think I should talk to Cisco first before I talk about Central City. There's ... things that would best come from me.

[She notices the recording from the beginning and watches the woman's reactions to herself and her environment. She waits to see if a deliberate message comes and it does. She decides to call back in video though. She's rude like that. She also prefers that sort of connection and to get the additional feedback of vocal inflections and expressions. Of course it means Kitty is seen too, but she's fine with that. Caitlin will see a woman of twenty who will likely read a bit older than that. She's lived too hard, seen too much, but she's also had over a year to soften back up.]

I doubt they get much in the way of thanks very often.

Outer space.

That's not as unbelievable to me as it would have been about a year ago.

[ Caitlin's doing her best to keep it together right now. It's hard, when she's expecting Zoom to come tearing through and take her away again. She's wiping her eyes with the back of one hand. ]

That's a little concerning.

Well, you'll have that with abductions. [A little flippant in content, but the tone is gentle.]

I'm Kitty.

Oh? That's a good thing, at least. I mean, that you're sort of used to it.

You may be there for a few days, but you'll be shuffled to another ship eventually. Until then, you're stuck there.

[ She hmmphs softly in vague amusement. So she's traded one abduction for another. ]

I'm Caitlin. Are there — are there many of us?
