How is that not a thing? These things do have doors, right?

There are interior doors. Between you and space? Airlocks.

Lock is kind of the operative word here. You don't just open them like regular doors.

So how does that...work then, exactly? How do you get out?

Well, normally either you're wearing some kind of pressure suit, or your ship's docked with another ship or a station. Or you're on a planet. Then you cycle the airlock, it equalizes the pressure, and out you go.

And that...works? It keeps you from getting sucked out and ding and stuff?

Yeah. It's standard. People fly around in space ships all the time.

Yeah. Only way to get around between all the planets in the galaxy. Space ships are a must.

That--isn't usually a thing where I'm from. Like we live on just the one planet?? Others aren't supposed to have life.

There's a lot of planets in a galaxy. It'd be weird for most of them to not have life. [Kid, what kind of messed-up galaxy do you even come from?]
