Awright, lets get this over with quick.

[ Ben's been loitering for a few days in the Marisva, getting his bearings, read'n up on what he could about this place, but some stuff you only get through good old fashioned talking face to face. Or face to camera. A huge, craggy, orange face fills the screen, all worn and weathered and animate like stone probably shouldn't be. There's a slow blink and a low sigh, the Thing rolling out his shoulders and settling in for a fun series of conversations. ]

Ben Grimm here of The Fantastic Four and Avengers ask'n for a headcount. Who all's here, who ain't, and which version of earth are ya from?

[ It ain't his first rodeo, it ain't even his tenth- it is his second in one of these weird 'crammed in a jaw and hope noth'n blows up' sortsa places though. Seems a bit nicer than Luceti. For one thing: Space! For another: he gets to pilot. ]

And can we skip the 'oh gosh gee you're all big and orange and rocky!' like I don't know. You're in space, you've gotta have seen stranger things than me by now.

[ He takes a slow breath, low and gravely. ]

Not the historical one, I take it?

It's historical awright, and American, but not the one with the north and south. Nah- this one? [ His already raspy voice goes rough, recounting this is painful. Still pretty fresh, still pretty strange to see everything that happened. To hear about the fallout. ] Was over superhumans, heroes, mutants, all them registering with the Government. One side was for it, One side wasn't, and a lotta innocent people got caught up in between.

Mutant registration. [ There's a sudden tension in her features and Raven stares, unable to avoid it, before she leans back and turns her gaze away. ] Mutants volunteered to be registered?

Everyone registration, only reason it came up again after the mess about mutant registration 'bout a decade or so back. Some did. Most didn't. Most wanted to keep their heads down and not bother since it was supposed to only apply to vigilante types but- slippery slopes, all that.

Of course it would only start with volunteers. [ It's never that easy, and she's more than a little bit uncomfortable about the idea of it snowballing out of control. Something to look out for in their world, at least. ] But there were other 'super' people?

Always have been. Mutants are the tip of the iceberg. We got geniuses and scientists and sorcerers and plain old powered people that weren't born this way. We got people without powers that put on a costume and fight anyway to protect their families or their street or their town. World's gotten a lot smaller and a lot weirder- but up till the Civil War we all pretty much helped each other out.

Didn't always agree on how stuff should be done but- no one got hurt on purpose. Not like this.
