driftfleet | Tourist ROAD TRIP (mingle)

[ Since moving on from the moon, Kara's been hanging out on the Tourist and occasionally shuttle jumping to see her friends. Her ship will probably be lucky if she doesn't go through all the food supplies before their next reliable drop (she won't). Always feel free to knock on her door or hit her up for some quality active listening! she's getting real good at that ]

[You know that girl who doesn't even go here, but who is still on board a lot, usually overnight? This is her—Kitty Pryde. She doesn't go wandering off without Winn too much, but it's not hard to catch her in the hall or arriving or departing from the cargo bay.]

Boyfriend, guess what I have~ [Sing song lilt to her voice as she gives his door a tap. There are a couple of bags of snack foods in her hands.

It's not pizza or it would've been gone the second you touched down --

[ kara would sniff it out, get it? nudge nudge. opening the door with a smile (and a sweatshirt he made himself in one of his many sleepless nights to replace his cardigans), his eyes wander down to her hands, and his entire face practically sparkles with joy as he pulls her inside ]

Have I mentioned lately how much I love you?

[ while it may sometimes feel like winn is never alone -- he actually can be found on his own a lot more often than you'd suspect. in the middle of the night in kara's office, pouring over his projects, in all hours in the kitchen, getting fueled up, and even on the treadmill that he's secretly started to like a little bit...though without kirk there to make him do it, he never lasts too long on it. hey, 10-20 minutes are better than nothing, right!

his door is usually closed, but he'll happily open it for anyone. though knocking is always recommended and appreciated because the odds of finding him with intimate company...well, they're pretty high. ]

[She laughs and sneaks a kiss before putting the bags down on his dresser.] There's more where that came from. I made it to a space outpost today. Not too much there, but snacks are a thing.

I hit the girlfriend jackpot.

[ he leans in for another more proper kiss hello. ]

You really did. So lucky. [Teasing and amused.] And I got an adventure such as it was. Just a really uneventful one. Oh, but a vending machine tried to steal my money. Hah. I'm just being polite even bothering to use money. Like I can't just reach in and pull things out.

Really, vending machine should know to pick its battles.

[ he smiles ]

It should count its blessings you're not the breaking type.

Right? I was very nice and didn't fry it. I clearly deserve some kind of reward. [Like the one she is taking in the form of a kiss maybe.]

[ she can have that reward pretty much any time she wants for anything whatsoever. he'll indulge in kissing her as he shoves the door shut.

when he pulls away though, there's a mischievous grin on his lips. ]

Fortunately - I've prepared for just such an occasion!

Oh no, what did you do?

Don't worry, it's not a Frisbee. Heard you loud and clear on that --

[ rummaging through his socks, he pulls out a small simple box, once again wrapped in a homemade blue ribbon. ]

Ok, I - wanted to save it for your birthday but then I..got impatient, honestly. So, I'll just think of something else for then - [ he smiles and hands her the box. ] Happy Tuesday, Kitty.

[ inside, she'll find a simple oval locket in shades of blue on a golden chain. when opened, she'll find one side to hold a carefully fitted picture of kurt, taken off the network, and the other an equally carefully fitted picture of a smiling winn. behind that picture, hidden for now until such a time in which she decides to take winn's picture out for whatever reason - is a nano sd card. ]

Winn. [She smiles at him because he's the sweetest and kisses his cheek.] You know you don't have to get me things, right? [Even if it totally worked before to land her. She pulls off the ribbon and opens it up to pull out the locket.]

Oh, Winn, it's so pretty. Does it open?

I know. I want to.

[ get kara - get kara fast!! pretty sure his face right now could charge her up for a year! ]

It does, yeah. There's a little - [ he gestures towards the tiny mechanism cleverly disguised on the side. ]

[She finds the clasp he's indicating and flips it open and then her breath catches because he already included photos. Of course he did. He's Winn. For a moment she feels overwhelmed looking down into her teammate and friend's face and then her boyfriend's. She's going to be able to wear this. If something happens. If she's separated she might get to keep the things actually on her. She can feel the light sting of tears trying to get through as she holds them back the way she always tries. And then she's just bringing her arms around Winn and burying himself against his shoulder. How does he always do this? How does he always find just the right thing. Sorry, no words. She can't manage them yet.]

[ words are overrated anyway, he'll take this hug over any speech in the world. holding her tightly, he presses a soft kiss to her head, and rubs her back. he doesn't want to think of her disappearing - or him disappearing. it's one of the worst offenders at keeping him up at night. but if it does happen - he wants her to have something to hold onto while he fights his way to find her or worse...while he's back home, never knowing she exists out there.

he just holds her quietly for a moment. ]

So I take it you like it.

I love it. [She pulls back to meet his eyes.] I love you. I feel like I need some new, better word for it. [She doesn't feel like she deserves him, but she really wants to keep him.]

I love you too. [ funny, it's exactly how he feels about her. ] Looking forward to seeing what you come up with -

[ he grins ]

Should I?

[ nodding at the necklace, in case she wants help putting it on. ]

You'll be the first to know. [Who else would she use it on?]

Mmm, yeah. [She hands him the locket and turns so he can put it on her. She hasn't had a haircut in quite awhile so it's starting to get longer. She should maybe do something about that one of these days. For now, he can just move it out of his way.]

[ one of these days, he really has to do something about his own hair too before anyone'll start thinking he's trying to imitate cisco or something. fortunately - he's got time before it's quite that problematic.

fussing with the clasp for a moment, he carefully puts it on her - a little giddy that he gets to do that - and gently moves her hair back over the chain. ]

There you go. Beautiful.

[She turns back around and has every intention to say words, but she ends up with her mouth pressed to his instead, trying to kiss everything he means to her at him.]

[ judging by the way he kisses back - he's a 1000% for this plan! ]

[This kiss isn't breaking until their lungs are burning okay? She's pushing in flush and kissing deeper and if she was any closer she'd be phasing inside of him.]

[ it's the perfect proximity level, just the one before he gets uncomfortable.

he breaths hard when they do break apart, laughing a little in between gasps. ]

Really not encouraging me not to get you stuff -

That... [breathing hard] is a good point. [She kisses him again even without the breath to do it so it's brief.] I should work on that.
