Daario had reawoken a part of her long dead, but still heavily guarded. She knew not to trust herself to open up again, despite how much she had cared for him. Dany had loved his blue hair and the cocksure way he carried himself. She wondered if marrying H'zdar had cost her something more important, even if her people would always come first. She had none of those things here, and yet she still hesitated with what to do with Leto, even if she treasured his gift.
Dany felt conflicted in accepting the gift, hoping for a chance to see him in person and thank him. Now that she was given the opportunity, the words 'Thank you' are lost in favor of surprise.]
Is that another gift?
[Seven Hells, Daenerys hoped it was just some sort of package he was bringing just for the Caprine, instead of herself. Her violet eyes widen as she takes in the box and then Leto himself. This was their first meeting in person and he surely didn't disappoint. His blue eyes were striking, but she felt unphased by them, having grown used to her own strange look. Silver hair and violet eyes were a mark of House Targaryen that carried through generations from the days of Valyria and those who had conquered Westeros from the Andals and the First Men.]

I did make a promise, of sorts. Though gifts are a small part of it, making them yours is what opens our hearts to the world.
no subject
I didn't have the chance to say thank you. For your last gift.
[It helped her feel less homesick, in truth. She would have rather he somehow make Drogon appear in thin air.]
Did you know? What such a gift was for me?
[How he knew specifically to gift her with a dragon... she's intrigued by it.]
no subject
I knew. I have a special ability of my own, to notice and understand the lives of others.
[ To put it mildly. Leto doesn't want the Game of Thrones people to know that he can perceive the future and the past. It'll invite the kind of questions he prefers to avoid and he rarely violates his rule - no knowledge of the future is meant to be passed on. ]

That eliminates the mystery a bit, wouldn't you say? It must feel a bit of a curse when you want to become close to someone you already know so well.
[Not that he probably wanted to be close to her, specifically.]
Can you read thoughts as well?
[Seven Hells. If he could then how could she keep anything from him?]
no subject
I know some details, but I do not know the content of one's heart and mind. That belongs to you and you alone. It is a curse but it is mine to bear.
[ And he chose it, for the sake of other people. A selfless choice. ]

[Poor thing, honestly. She can't even imagine.]
no subject
We can't shed the traits of our lineage so easily, after all.
no subject
[Of course, he'd say that knowing exactly who she is and her family's history. There was an old saying about House Targaryen. Whenever a Targaryen was born, the gods flipped a coin. She had no way of knowing if that was true. There was no way to know if she was truly different from her father or from Viserys.]
Tell me about yourself. You know enough about me that it's almost unfair.
[She might be pressing for a different topic, if only to keep her thoughts from showing in her expressions. He was here and she wanted to learn about him.]
no subject
What would you like to know?
no subject
[It was funny, now that she could actually ask him these things she wasn't quite sure where to start. At the same time she had to stop herself from firing off question after question.]
no subject
[ He shrugs. ] My sister could also do the same, but she chooses not to.
no subject
[She smiles a bit.]
Is she as prone to moving about as you do?
[Sneaking about, she should say. Still it was nice to have finally caught him.]
no subject
I suppose. We are of the same cloth. Though Ghani is a little more blunt than I.
[ His voice is unbearably fond. ]
no subject
[Daario had a bit of that too. As did Tyrion and he had become her trusted advisor in a short time.]
Have you been to the Caprine before this? Before you started leaving things for me, I mean.
no subject
I try not to go where I'm not invited.
no subject
[By her authority as captain etc. etc.]
The crew here are all lovely people but I find that is true of most of the crews here. I imagine horrible people must be terribly boring for the ones who watch us.
no subject
Not necessarily. I'm sure they are sprinkled here and there to, ah, keep the tension high at times. But usually they are wise enough to know starting trouble in a confined space would not end well.
Usually.
no subject
[Though he seems like he'd be more than equipped to dodge such issues.]
High tension doesn't suit you, I think. Or trouble. You seem the type that is perfectly behaved when you aren't slipping presents to young maidens.
[She's joking about the maiden part. She is far from that.]
no subject
[ Also known as: There's an assassin causing trouble, but Leto adopted him, gave him a new name and mission. Let it never be said his methods don't work. ]
If I appear in such a manner, then I suppose I'm not behaving like myself.
[ Though it has been a while since he's caused trouble. Hm. Odd, that. ]
no subject
[She lifts her chin a bit, the barest of smiles making an appearance.]
And what would be considered normal behavior for you?
[Does it involve getting into trouble? That might be interesting to find out. Maybe she had misjudged him.]
no subject
[ He quirks his lips. There's a touch of wisdom and fun in there, like a balancing act. ]
no subject
[Because it was just... silly and nice, really. Whatever this was. The gifts at least were a defining point she had to go off of.]
no subject
[ He's . . . earnest. Leto doesn't lie, doesn't even like lying. ]
no subject
[Well she might not have opened her heart to him but she's certainly enamored and intrigued by him. The way he approached her wasn't that of a man approaching a Queen - how so many other men since Drogo had done - but someone who wanted her attention and meant to keep it. He didn't fear her titles or feel threatened by them, not that she made use of them here. He was carefully aware of her and made a study of her. She wished she could do the same, but then somehow she felt as if he still might make this exchange more about her than himself.]
