I think it's safe to say that home is a very understandable answer, but it's also a little too achingly realistic for my purposes. So pick somewhere else. Pick Ibiza. Pick Iceland, if you want.

Oh? Is it the mythology she loves?

I think so, yeah. She read a lot of books about mythology and legends when we were little, but I didn't pay much attention to which ones.

Thor's cool, sure, but -- sometimes I'm not certain every single mythological figure really lives up to their literary hype.

Yeah, tell me about it. There's nothing quite like meeting your would-be hero and finding out their potential for awful firsthand.

It can be tough swallowing that they're just as messy as the rest of us. Sometimes more so.

Legendary people making legendary mistakes. It makes them more believable, but at the same time, it definitely breaks the illusion.

And sometimes the world, too. Higher risks and all that.

I can't say much about that. My world's never had stakes that high, which I should probably be grateful for.

Never? What -- are things pretty peaceful there?

For the most part, yeah. I mean, there's conflicts here and there, but nothing very far-reaching. Basic stuff you hear on the news, that's about it.

And supervillains?

What, like from comic books and stuff? Nope, never heard of those. Not IRL, anyway.

Like the big bad guys. The ones who try, altogether too often, so wreck everything on a global scale? No?

No way. No villains, no monsters, just normal people.

Not... really. Not in the traditional sense, anyway.

Everyone's got their own individual hero, but I don't think that's what you mean.

Deeefinitely not. Spandex is strictly limited to athletes and cosplayers.

Sure am. Well, minus the actual cape and cowl. Cape's are pretty superfluous. And a cowl would just mess up my hair.
