Got it in one. [ meanwhile, kate is the opposite of stiff and awkward. she's a natural at this socializing thing -- perhaps due to years and years of dinner parties and roof-top galas due to her family's status in manhattan's social scene. it doesn't make it any less of an act, of course. something that can be switched off and on at will.

the fact that she's almost too social: too frank, too talkative, too bold? well, that's her own little rebellion against being raised a bishop. ]

It's okay to be bad at it. [ ... ] It's not okay to not at least try and adapt. Adaptation's about as natural as anything else when it comes to human beings, right?
