[it was bound to happen sometime. all three captains of the SS Red Fish are hauled back home in various stages of medical distress, and things have been a little weird since then.

one of these things is the super soldier with the busted metal arm that is brought in to be kept locked up in Coil's lab for a while. turns out those restraints he'd had installed did come in handy. that's a thing.

so, whether you're here to check on one of the various ailing people here, gawk at the guy chained up in the dungeon lab, or are just trying to live your life in relative peace and sanity, come on in!]

Uh, well.

[ it's a little funny, to explain. cas frowns thoughtfully, and pulls back, gesturing vaguely with his hands. ]

Me.. coming back. I, uh, got my mojo back, seems like.

[She appreciates the fact that when he says confusing words, he gives helpful hand gestures to clue her in.]

That was just your power coming back? Wow.

Ah, yeah. Didn't mean to surprise you or anything.

[ angelic grace can certainly be a little bit.. violent, that's for sure, he probably got the attention of the whole damned ship, and possibly some other nearby ships besides. whoops. ]

Sorry if I, you know, worried you.

Don't apologize. You didn't choose it.

[She lets herself take his hand in hers, lean against his shoulder companionably. She's getting used to it; touching people she feels close to. It's largely Cas' doing anyway.]

I'm just glad you're back.

[ it's funny, how long it took cas to be comfortable with touch, to even think of it as something natural; when you live for billions of years as a being of energy, being tactile doesn't really come naturally.

but now, hey, look at him being all touchy! and giving touchy lessons. who knew it would ever turn out like this. he gives her hand a gentle squeeze. ]

Yeah. I'd say it's good to be back, but uh.. I didn't even really notice I was gone at all, so.

Ah, so you couldn't hear me.

[A mixed bag of feelings there. On the one hand, she spent almost two months fretting and talking, singing and reading to him, and he wasn't at all there for it. But on the other, he wasn't afraid or lonely. And really that's the important part.]

You'll have to read all these books all over again.

[She nods to the few stacks of books she'd made. She'd left them as a marker for the passage of time. So if he woke alone, he might see physical evidence that people came and cared.]

[ for a moment cas looks bewildered, a little crease between his brows, but as he glances around at the piles of books it becomes clear enough, what she means.

and he's.. touched. truly. it shows on his face, his features softening to something warmer, a faint smile curling the corners of his mouth, and he offers her hand a gentle squeeze. ]

[She blushes, just a little.]

I didn't want you to be bored. Or lonely.

[ cas can only chuckle, his smile slanting and his eyes down. ]

Yeah, of course you didn't. Well, I appreciate it.

[The chuckle nets him a puzzled look and a companionable nudge of her elbow.]

What's funny? I was worried and missed you.

Hey, it's not funny! Just, you know, cute.

[ and so very sye that it hurts. ]

[She makes face as if she's wounded by the phrase, over exaggerated and obviously not serious. She's hoping he'll laugh more.]

How every young lady wants to be seen.

[ playfully, cas nudges his shoulders against hers, grinning warm and easy. ]

Well, could be worse, right?

That's true. I have been called much worse.

[She smiles, but the humor slides away after a moment. Still happy, just more serious.]
