What if he doesn't?

[ Jordan's getting very ??? right now because what does that even mean? What if Alex doesn't what? Transfer? He doesn't even know why Alex wouldn't but grays are weird as hell and Jordan doesn't even try to understand them. ]

Then I guess I'll take one of those shuttles these ships have and go to his ship for the time being.

[ Malak sighs, and gives up. ]

I'm going to make dinner. There'll be some extra for you, if you want it.

What is there even to eat here?

[ And that's a bit grump because he's still upset at Alex not being there. Mentions of food just puts him off more because Alex doesn't eat human stuff much anymore. He just eats Jordan's emotions. ]

Protein cubes. And what we can get from the moons.

The ones - they're close by, close enough for shuttles. And a waystation between them.

We have some more. Meat is illegal on the waystation [ sigh ] so it's all vegetables or fruits right now.

I think it's so that they don't all go to war over the waystation.

So rather than let bygones be bygones on the foreign, shared space they all impose their laws at once so nobody will have any fun.

It could have taken them a lot to maintain peace. It's not really your place to comment on it.

Besides, if it's law for a public area then it's absolutely my place. Why shouldn't I be allowed to talk on matters they make no effort to hide?
