[ Waking up somewhere unusual isn't the strange part; that's something he's grown depressingly used to in his sorry excuse for a life. But waking up in a place that isn't Konoha, isn't his world, and is instead an uncomfortably familiar confined technological nightmare of a ship with the distinct feeling that something is off is outside his limited comfort zone.

He gets his bearings first before going for his communicator, head further dizzied by a displayed date that doesn't match up with what he remembers. ]

I have a gap in my memory. Is this a normal occurrence here?

[ And that's it, that's his whole message after being absent for who knows how long. How quintessentially Sasuke. how much did he drink ]

[ He chuckles, a little wry. ]

I suppose I am rather predictable.

[ Obi-Wan steps in neatly. He's not tense, but there's a line of tension. He had been worried and the Huntress has changed greatly since he first arrived here. ]

How are you feeling?

Physically, well.

[ He makes no attempt to stop him, even retreating further into the room to allow him more room -- it's safe to say very few people are permitted inside. ]

Otherwise... I feel ill at ease. Having gaps in my memory is disconcerting. [ There's no point in being dishonest with Obi-Wan right now, just as there'd honestly been little point before either. He's good at sniffing out truths. ]

[ He nods. Obi-Wan has never suffered from memory loss, though there were moments in his past where he came perilously close. He knew the kind of fear they could inspire. ]

Stefan went into a coma for some time and came back with new memories. It looks to me you took a very long nap. I don't think they tampered with you.

... saying it like that doesn't make me feel better. It makes me sound lazy. [ And Sasuke is a lot of unpleasant things but 'lazy' is not one of them. ]

I suppose only time will truly tell.

[ His lips curve, bemused. That's exactly what he'd picture Sasuke saying. ]

I'm afraid we don't have much in way of an explanation.

Then I suppose what I should be asking about instead is everything that I've missed.

Well, all the other pilots left so I'm the only one available to the Huntress right now.

[ Obi-Wan pulls up the chair and sits down. ] And we recently learned of a thing called augment glitches. That can regress people to a younger age with their younger memories. I had such an incident a month ago.

That alone is a heavy beginning.

[ Not that Sasuke was especially bonded with them, but still. His arms cross as he listens, remaining standing. ]

... that's the last thing I would want to hear. How did you reverse the effects? [ A young Sasuke? That is not what anyone needs. ]

I didn't. They passed on eventually. I assume there's only so much entertainment that can be garnered from it.

[ It still rankles. Obi-Wan is an intensely private person. He rarely shares parts of himself, and even then he obfuscates the truth as much as he can. Being recalled from the past, in the time of grieving was insulting to him. And to the person he grieved for, even now. ]

[ As usual just the mention of their personal struggles being used for entertainment irks him, having to fight a shift in expression. ]

... it shouldn't have happened to you. [ It's as far as he can go in terms of consoling him, but he means it. ]

Was it triggered by something specific or was it random?

It might be because Ahsoka had it earlier. Perhaps it's . . . infectious?

[ Though he can't help saying that with incredulity. Because who has ever heard of machine malfunctions being infectious? ]

[ He sobers up a little. ] I don't think it is. I suspect I wasn't doing enough and they sought to motivate me.

You're taking your selflessness too far if you're planning to actually do things to entertain them intentionally.
