There’s a new room on the Iskaulit, though it’s not obvious where it is, if you don’t know about it already, as it is inconspicuously tucked away in one of the unused corridors of the ship. More importantly, it’s equipped with biometric security systems, so only a select few can enter without being accompanied by one of the room’s designers. Under Dr. Crusher and Captain Vision’s guidance, various engineers and doctors in the fleet have come together to build a surgical suite with one specific goal in mind: fixing Wrath’s back and removing the ports put there by Compliance. For over a year, Wrath and Beverly have been pursuing this goal and now it’s finally happening.

In the operating room itself, there are only three people, besides Wrath: Dr. Crusher, Dr. Keller, and the Vision, in case they run into any issues with Wrath’s cybernetic implants. However, for those who wish to watch the surgery, there is a small observation lounge looking down into the OR, where you are welcome to stay and watch. The two doctors and Vision are all covered head to toe in scrubs, masks, and gloves, while Wrath lies prone on the operating table, with cushions supporting her neck and hips, and her limbs securely strapped in to keep her safely in position. An IV delivers her pain meds and anesthesia. Gently, Beverly kneels in front of an already fading Wrath and places a respirator over her face. “All right, Wrath, ready? I’m going to count backwards from ten. 10, 9, 8…”

Hours later, Beverly has successfully removed the shattered ports, working from her experience with Borg implants. It’s delicate, tedious work, but she never falters, her hands steady throughout. If there was any doubt as to her surgical skills before, there can be none now. Afterwards, Wrath is back in traction in the recovery room. She may still be a little drowsy, but no doubt she will welcome visitors.

Aw, was he a cute drooly boy?

I had a kitten named Jellybean. I wanted to name her Princes Stabdeath Snugglepaws, but Maine said no because he's a giant poop. But no one stopped me from naming my fox Officer Snuggles!

The cutest and the drooliest. Anders would get so frustrated at him drooling all over his papers, but if the man had just cleaned them up instead of leaving them all over the blighted place.

[He chuckles at the memory.]

I don't see what's wrong with the name Stabdeath Snugglepaws other than it describes basically every cat I've ever met.

But that's the best, what a cutie! Yeah, if he didn't want drool on his stuff, he should have kept it away from the pupper!

[She giggles.]

Well, she did have the best little jellybean toes. But Maine wanted to name her Helmet. I don't even know.

Yeah! We got him on the snowy planet. Um. [She whistles, and in comes Officer Snuggles, wearing his little tactical fox vest. What a happy, fluffy, arctic fox.]

Right? I kept telling him to keep his things on the desk, that Drools is an intelligent boy and would leave it alone there, but the pages were everywhere. What does he expect?

[Hawke waves his arms about it for a moment, still clearly amused at the anecdote despite the pang he has about that life lost.

It's easily forgotten as a fox wearing clothes marches into the room. Hawke has to cover his mouth with his hands to keep himself from making undignified noises.]

He's adorable!

Cute, drooly puppies are just gonna do what they're gonna do!

[Wrath grins.]

He's the best! And he's super smart, too. He knows all kinds of commands. Like kisses! And kill.

Ah yes, the two most important commands. Before 'drop it' and 'off the table you mangy beast'

[He grins broadly down at the fluffy fox, then has a thought.]

He's not going to eat your slug, is he?

[Hm. She considers this.]

I'd better make sure he knows Fluffernoodle isn't food. He hasn't tried to eat anything he's not allowed to in a while...

Best to make sure, yeah. Wouldn't want to find it halfway down the fox's gullet one morning.

[He tilts his head at the fox.]

You hear that? Friend, not food.

Oh no, that would be super upsetting. But Snuggles is a good boy, I'll make sure he understands.

[He smiles at Wrath, though he has doubts about the fox's intentions. He won't voice them now, though.]

Now I wish I could stay longer, but I have a job I need to get to down on planet. Is there anything you'd like for me to pick up for you and bring by later?

Um... okay this is dumb, but could you find me a pretty bathing suit? Someone chewed mine up before he learned what no meant.

[Snuggles don't care.]

[He doesn't exactly blush, but that's certainly not a request he was expecting and he's taken off guard by her trusting him with something like that all of a sudden.]

[She figures strippers know how to pick out good ones. Hopefully sparkly ones!]

[He waves that off and then does flush just a little, needing to ask something in order to fulfill her request properly.]

But, uh... what's... I mean, they come in different sizes, so...
