I have an important request. I need someone who can make cheese. Do cheese makers have an old timey name like cobblers and haberdashers or are those only for clothes? Anyway, calling all of those.

Cheese doesn't seem to be a thing here from what I can tell, but we're just one ingredient away from some really great pizza. I have no idea what cheese requires other than cows or goats or something. I grew up so close to Wisconsin, but I feel like I learned so little.

I would also accept alternative cheese. I know there were vegan kinds made out of hopes and dreams or something I assume. I can pay you or share the finished pizza or do something in trade if I had skills. I could beat someone up for you maybe. [She's not going to do that. Probably.] We'll work it out.

[With the connection it's much easier to understand where the person you're with is coming from. Their thought process. Their feelings. It's like this light buzz of information and clarity without the solid directness of fully formed sentences. His thoughts on her and Winn bring the man to mind for her too.

But she'll need a full on eyeroll for Kurt's actual words.] Please.

Ask Winn though. He might ave a list for you. He can be jealous over basically any guy. [Which does bother her. It's never been hard to see, but now she can feel it too and she knows it's about his own insecurities and not a lack of trust in her for being faithless, but it's hard not to feel that way sometimes.]

That looks promising. [She sees a tree starting to reveal itself in the distance as they move through the terrain. It's hard to make out all the details, but through her link with Kurt it feels like something special.]

That's exactly why I'm so concerned with not giving him a reason to be jealous of me. [He can understand why, for two very different reasons. Getting a woman he wants has never been a problem; Kurt sees himself as beautiful like his mother (although the thought stings just a little, now that he knows he resembles some bastard that abandoned her) and few reactions in his life have countered that conclusion. Keeping a woman once she's gotten what she wants, that's where his insecurities flare despite never really having a problem there either. The other reason is that, well, he's a Darkholme. That's a name with certain reputations, including being beautiful and untrustworthy.

So much thought for what amounts to a brief lull in conversation, and musings he's easily drawn out of when Kitty points out a tree; verbally, but his eyes go right to it as though she'd gestured.] It does. Are you basing that on your observations or mine? [He considers teleporting them both to it, but despite the increasing sense of familiarity with their surroundings Kurt knows well and good he doesn't know the area well enough. Walking faster it is.]

[Kitty has never had a problem trusting Kurt despite his reputation.

...Okay, Kitty used to have a problem trusting Kurt which had more to do with his appearance than anything else. It's not something she's proud of and it's little comfort that nearly everyone intimidated her back then. Not even Piotr was entirely immune, but close since he most directly rescued her.

But after that phase she came to enjoy and depend on him. She has no doubt anyone would be lucky to be with him for a night or for a lifetime.]

He can't. That isn't allowed. [Not that she can set a rule for that or expect it to be obeyed when they are talking about feelings, but she hopes it never goes that direction. She would like them to all get along. It's a nice thought being able to spend time with both of them together—her important guys.]

Um, I'm not sure? You I think. Kind of weird, right? [But interesting-weird.]

[Forgiven completely, years ago. There's the memory of being slightly hurt, but even in that flash is also the knowledge that it isn't personal. In his mind back then she was a wisp of a thing with hair like a dandelion and dark, haunted mirrors for eyes. A part of him had wondered, right until he'd come here and been told emphatically that Victor wasn't his father, if she'd recognized her personal nightmare somehow in his face.

(He'd give damn near anything to hear Victor call him pup one more time. He'd even settle for elf.)]

Oh, you're giving him rules now? What's next Kitty, a leash? [The joking is genuine, but also a cover for the swell of gratitude and sorrow in response to her thoughts on how lucky a woman would be to have him. He's failed everyone he's ever loved; with the exception of Emma and Jean, he's buried everyone. Even here, he couldn't protect Wrath from Winter. To him the luckiest woman is the one with the sense to run far away. All that seeping out from under a cover of joy at being on this planet, doing something utterly ridiculous.

He tilts his head, the sense of deja vu feeling almost like a pull, vaguely reminding him of passages in which a compulsion was described as calling to her blood. This is much less severe than he imagined, but similar.] It reminds me a little of Jean, when we were younger or she was tired.

[She appreciates his understanding especially considering he must have endured a lot of looks and comments and gasps of fear over the years. Things she only has to worry about when actively displaying her powers and even then it's a different level.

And as hard as getting to a place where she can be okay with Victor and consider him a teammate has been she wouldn't begrudge Kurt's association with him. She knows how meaningful that can be. She knows how much she misses Logan even after feeling abandoned by him and even after the heartbreaking things Kurt told her about the future she'll never have.]

What, and cover up his pretty neck? [She'll do her best not to think too clearly on how much she likes doing things to his neck. Ahem.]

It's kind of nice. The connection. Even if it's not exactly like Jean's best work. [Even when it's been hard she's like feeling so close to people. Winn mostly and Kurt now. For as honest as she can be she's not always so open and they certainly aren't. And sometimes it feels like there is so much room to fill inside.]

I had a talk with Wrath not too long ago. [Seeing glimpses in minds makes random segues a little less random, right?]
