Hello, everybody. This is Shirley of the...formerly of the SS Huntress? I'm on the Marsiva again, so the Atroma must have done something. I know people have fallen asleep for a long time before, but I remember Varric...

[Shirley's smile fades, and some of the formality in her demeanor drops away as hesitation takes its place. She's still making an effort to stay positive, though!]

Could anybody please tell me what date it is? As best as we can, around here. I'd also appreciate if somebody could tell me more about what system we're in as well. And of course, if anyone who knows me is seeing this I'd like to hear from you. Has it been a while?

In any case, to everyone - thank you for hearing me now. Whatever's going on outside of the Marsiva right now, I hope you've found something to enjoy here.

[And for anybody else on the Marsiva, she'll just be exploring the ship until it's time for ship assignments and more confetti probably. Shirley barely saw the Marsiva before getting whisked away the first time, so she may as well take advantage of the opportunity now.

And besides, she's been wanting to look for something here. Time to check in all those nooks and crannies...]

Oh yeah! We moved to a different planet a few weeks ago! What was the last place you were at?

We were in between planets at the time. The one we'd left was one full of oceans and islands, and we spent a few weeks in space after that. People were talking about...um, how is the Iskaulit right now, anyway?

[Ohhhh no um yup. It's probably going to be PRETTY clear that Pinkie's only been here for a couple of months herself. She'll apologize profusely if you explain it to her, though.]

Oh, the Iskaulit's great! There's a gym and a library and a lot of other places and my friends Winn and Cisco just set up this place where people can give lectures on stuff!

Although... there WAS this incident last month where somebody's augment malfunctioned and he got brainwashed into hurting a lot of people, but nobody died and everybody's pretty much recovered by now, or so I heard!

[Shirley's already kind of guessed that! But it is kind of weird listening to Pinkie talk about the Iskaulit like that, when Shirley last remembers it as empty and sad. And then there's the other part, although to be fair that's actually more like the condition they found the Iskaulit in anyway.]

It's...certainly changed since I was last here, then. I remember people were just starting to talk about what we might want to build on the Iskaulit.

Oh, yeah? I thought it'd always been part of the fleet, like the Marsiva.

[PINKIE NO, you don't wanna know this!]

[Does Shirley want to be the one to tell her. There could be worse people for the job, but still.]

Um, no, it wasn't. It was given to us a little while before I was taken away.

[Shirley, do you see this cute, innocent face? Do you really want to burden this face with the knowledge of a slow-acting, lethal plague on the ship her friends go to for fun times when they're cooped up in space?]

Oh, kinda like the treee? There's a tree down here and if you hold hands with somebody in front of it, it'll give you a present!

[Shirley is absolutely ready to be the one to do that if she needs. Question is, what purpose does that serve? To Shirley it's wrong to wipe out the ship's history, but she doesn't want to beat people over the head with it either.]

I don't mind telling you, but it may not be what you're expecting.

Iiiii WAS expecting it to be a nice present after a job well done, buuuut NOW I'm expecting something really really sad?

It's both of those things, I think.

[She's listening, then.]

The Iskaulit was originally a merchant ship, full of people from a race called the Nunnilis. But there was a fungus that infected everyone on it, and it was...bad.

[Sparing Pinkie the details.]

We couldn't save the people on the Iskaulit, but we were able to develop a cure that we passed onto the next Nunnilis we found. They were struggling with the same problem, and we were able to help most of them. The ship is their thanks for that.

[A short pause.]

...It sounds like the Iskaulit's become a lively place again, since then. I'm glad.

Oh. ... Yeah, that is good. And I'm glad your were able to keep any more of the Nunnilis from getting sick...

[Still, that's... really sad to think about, a few tears'll start leaking out the corners of her eyes.]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry.

Nono, i-it's fine. Thank you for telling me.

Please don't think any less of the Iskaulit for its history. I think it's important to remember the Nunnilis, but that doesn't change what it's become.

No, of course not. That stuff's important too, right? I'll check if there's some kind of memorial for them or something on there. If not we could probably make one, right?

There might be. I was trying to organize the creation of one before I disappeared. I don't know what happened afterward, but you could check the Iskaulit.

Yeah, I can do that. And I'll definitely get back to you on it!

[She'll be quite pleased, apparently Wrath made a very nice mural for them.]
