Wandering about
[Anyone roaming the planet might be able to find Korra easily. She was playing with the local children, showing them bending and also introducing them to Naga. The pup was a lot smaller than Naga was the last time she saw her but that didn't matter. Korra was happy as could be now that she had at least one familiar face. That is until she started to get hungry and was trying to grab food from one of the vendors.]
Ah- Naga no! Girl, sit!
[The pup wasn't quite as ready to be obedient yet. Korra managed to smooth things over by giving them some of the acorns she'd gotten for her performances in air bending from some of the locals and for doing various chores.]
Naga, you can't just take people's food... it's not nice.
[Someone could probably stand to help her out a bit in reigning her hungry friend in.]
SS Wonderduck
[After spending the day running around the planet in an attempt to tire out Naga, Korra manages to drag her back to the ship to give her somewhere to rest. Still she worries the rest of the crew won't like having their new companion and so if anyone notices her being a bit antsy - well they are free to ask questions.]
Hmm... I wonder if there's some fish around here...
[She can be found rummaging through he kitchen trying to find some food for Naga who Korra would later come to find had broken out of her room and was exploring the ship. Feel free to run into Korra or Naga? 8)]

Wandering about
[He has had to deal with the hand-holdy tree more than he'd like to admit now, and admit it he absolutely will not. But it's good to see a polar bear dog again- he's been too far from home for too long. More importantly, it's nice to see Korra happy.
...Of course, there were certain memories that came out of that which have given him some questions, so.]
So. Tenzin.
no subject
Yeah, true. When we first got to Republic City we kind of almost raided a food stand because she was hungry... at least we learned better. Right, girl?
[Naga had already found her way back to Korra, lopping along with her tail wagging and her tongue hanging out as she stood up to demand kisses.]
So... what do you want to know?
[Sure, they could talk about Tenzin but she was opening the floor to him to ask other questions besides that. She might not have all the answers but she had a few.]
no subject
Well, it's a long trip to...just about anywhere from home. Can't say I blame her. I'd raid a food stand, too.
[He's got your back, Naga.
He exhales slowly, mulling over his reply. What DID he want to know? He's aware knowing too much about the future is never a good thing. That he might learn things he doesn't want to learn. Things he can live much more comfortably not knowing about until the come to him on their own. ]
Is he Aang and Katara's kid? I mean...it sounded like he was, but I wasn't sure.
no subject
[She looks to the side, tugging at one of her arm guards.]
Yes, he is. Though he's the youngest. They have another son, Bumi, and a daughter, Kya.
[She doesn't even have to say what Kya might mean to him. She knew that was Katara and Sokka's mother's name.]
Tenzin and Bumi are both air benders like Aang and Kya's a water bender... and Tenzin has these really great kids too! I think you'd like Meelo.
[He liked to eat about as much as his great uncle and he liked to be goofy like his grandfather. An interesting twist.]
no subject
[There's something sad in his expression when she mentions Kya. She named her after Mom. But as Korra continues, a smile returns. It's small, and a touch melancholy, but a smile it is.]
They rebuilt the air nomads. That's great. That was Aang's dream. Uh...not that I need to tell you that, obviously.
no subject
[Excuse her she just lit up like a thousand-watt bulb. His melancholy only goes noticed for a second as she finds herself gushing about the air nomads.]
Yeah, I uh... well... I may have restored air bending for a lot of people. See there were these spirit portals and I opened them and that brought air bending back to the world.
[Aang would have been beside himself, she knows.]
And now the Air Nation helps people all over. They travel around like the old nomads used to do.
no subject
[He kind of...stares off into space for a second there. ]
...I'm gonna go right ahead and chalk that up as "wacky Avatar shenanigans" so my brain doesn't melt trying to understand any of that.
But it's good to hear, really. That they can finally be what they were. It's like getting a huge part of the world back.
no subject
[Oh, Sokka... don't mind her she's still getting used to you.]
It just seemed like the right thing to do for the world, you know? It wasn't all smooth sailing. Everyone had to get used to spirits being in the world again, but they live peacefully with humans now.
no subject
[And he means that. Sure, he and Aang clashed on occasion, but Aang always knew what was actually needed, when it came right down to it. That couldn't be denied at all. He's learned to trust the Avatar thing.]
no subject
[Raiko and the former Earth Queen came to mind.]

[Adalwolfe's been standing by, watching the antics of the white... animal. Not a mabari, the snout is too long, but she's just as muscular if not moreso and her paws are far bigger than any mabari he's ever laid eyes on. Naga is going to be enormous by his estimation.
Finally Hawke steps forward, producing more acorns from a pouch at his waist to buy quite a lot of the meat they have frying on the grill of the stall. In fact, he buys so much that the stall's keeper actually comes around and gives him a hug before promising to have it out to them in a jiffy, half of it wrapped for later and quite a lot for now. He could have done without the hug, honestly, but Hawke's used to it by now and tries to take it in stride.
As all this is going on, the wrinkly russet pup with sooty paws at Hawke's side seems a little less interested in food - he knows that's coming presently - and more interested in making Naga's acquaintance no matter what size she is. As is canine custom, he goes straight for a good whiff of her rear.]
There we go, some supper for all of us should be out shortly.
no subject
Uh... thanks? I can pay you back.
[She rummages into her pockets for some hard earned acorns, embarrassed that Naga had caused enough of a scene.]
no subject
[At the sound of his master saying his name, the little mabari looks over and gives a bark of confirmation, then goes right back to sniffing at Naga.]
Though maybe some training after the meal with your bear dog might be a good idea. She likes you well enough, but she hasn't learned to mind you yet it seems like.
no subject
She's normally not like this. Naga's not a pet either so she doesn't need to mind anything. She's my friend.
[She reaches to scoop Naga up, not even phased by this guy's dog.]
no subject
I didn't mean anything by it, I just thought you didn't want her causing such a fuss.
[What the heck did he say? Why can't he get anything right these days? Is it this place? His lack of sleep? Only the Maker knows...
With a sigh, he flops himself on a nearby bench, a log resting sideways with a wedge cut out of it to allow for a place to sit and a back rest. Almost immediately after he sits, he gets up again as the guy comes out of the stall with two bundles of the meat Adalwolfe had bought and two large platters on top loaded with already cooked skewers and grilled cuts of meat. He takes them all gratefully, thankful that the heaping portions now in his arms prevent him from offering another hug.
He turns back to Korra after juggling a bit.]
Here, take the platters and forget I said anything. One's for the dogs, and you can have all you want of the skewered one. Really, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you or Naga.
no subject
Thank you... I-I'm sorry, I think I got us off on the wrong foot. I think I'm just nervous, I guess. It's not home and I don't want Naga to get into bad habits, you know?
[Because who knows the next time he had food she might just take it from him without asking.]
She's been my friend since I can remember, but Naga kind of has a mind of her own.
[She smiles a bit, setting the pup down and Naga takes a cautionary sniff. of her new friend before dipping forward, butt in the air and tail wagging.]
Really, thanks for the food.
[Korra grabs up a bit of the meat, popping some in her mouth while Naga watches with reproach - excuse you, Korra that is her meat!!]
I'm not really good at accepting stuff from strangers, either.
[Which is funny considering people gave her whatever they wanted as long as she was a good Avatar by their standards.]
no subject
[He illustrates by setting the platters down on the bench and picking up one of the thicker slices. Ser Drools watches him with rapt attention, sitting very still except for his quivering bob of a tail and now ignoring Naga completely. Adalwolfe holds it out right in front of Drools for a long moment, but it's not until he says 'get it' that the mabari goes for the strip of meat and devours it in happily.]
You see? That's all I meant. Just so she knows what's polite around people and doesn't have you chasing after her and having to pay for things.
[He smiles a bit, still a bit tentative from before which hangs on him oddly, as confident as he generally carries himself. He sits again and takes one of the skewers for himself, tossing another strip of the rest for the dogs to catch.]
I do understand, though. I mean, we've only spoken once. I suppose I'm still just too used to people knowing who I am on sight.
no subject
[That's the only explanation she could come up with considering he knew what movers were and claims that people know him on sight.]
Naga's pretty well trained usually but not like... this. She's supposed to be a lot bigger.
no subject
[And he helped to kick off a rebellion that tossed all of Southern Thedas into a war, and thought he killed but apparently just freed an ancient evil that was meant to stay imprisoned for eternity. Not that he's going to add those parts. They weren't exactly intentional.]
Ser Drools is supposed to be bigger too, but I think the Tree could only do so much. They are a little easier to handle this way, at least.
[He looks down at the dogs with all affection, and lifts the platter of meat meant for the dogs back off the bench and puts it to the ground for them to reach easily. The other he keeps out of reach so there's some left as people food.]
Though whether they eat less is debatable.
Wandering About!
[ Well, the food he had ordered from the vendor suddenly got snathed up. He spotted a furry pup, and then... a woman following it around, giving it the gentle chiding it needed to behave. Itachi gently shook his companion off of him, interested in the dog and the person who had approached with it. ]
I'm guessing she's hungry.
no subject
I am so sorry. I can replace it.
[Ugh could this day be any more stressful?]
She's normally not like this she's just excited, I think.
no subject
Are you hungry as well? It's not fair to have to watch your pet eat good food.
no subject
and then i vanished from the internet, sorry!
all good! i'm technically on hiatus right now myself haha ^^;
no subject
Here, let her have this. It's leftover from my lunch. This probably isn't enough on its own, but it might be enough for a little while.
no subject
I- are you sure? I think I have acorns somewhere... I wouldn't want you to not have the rest of it.
[Naga on the other hand had different ideas. Already she could smell the sandwich and had made her way over, tail wagging and tongue hanging open. Standing up on her hind legs she sniffs at it, excitement pouring out of her.]
Naga, sit. That isn't yours.
[Yet, anyway. Korra smiles sheepishly, running her fingers through the pup's white fur.]
Sorry about her... she's normally not like this.
[Naga was bigger and more trained. She seemed to have reverted to back when the two of them were children.]
no subject
[Shirley withdraws her hand, although she doesn't put the food away.]
I'm already full from lunch, so I don't need it. And I think Naga could use it much more.
[She kneels down to offer Naga her other hand to sniff instead. What can she say, Shirley likes cute things and Naga is cute.]
How old is she?
no subject
[Naga wags her tail, smiling ear to floppy ear as she waits for her food with a little more patience this time.]
She's only a few months right now but we've been friends since I was a kid. Back home we were about the same age.
no subject
So they changed her age? That's the second time I've heard of such a thing happening.
no subject
[She looks down at Naga, running her fingers through her fur.]
I'll miss being able to ride her around, but it's still nice to have her hear.
no subject
[She smiles at Naga, watching Korra's hand and thinking of Moses.]
I have a friend at home who had a partner like yours. He'd probably be excited to talk with you and Naga, if he were here.
no subject
[Naga could still carry lighter loads though, at this size. Naga being small still felt strange but it was nice to have her hear at all.]
Oh... I'm sorry you can't see your friend. I'm realizing that happens a lot here - we get separated from friends and family.
no subject
[Well, she is a little bothered. But she'd regret it more if they were stuck here too, so she tries not to linger on that.]
But partners like you and Naga are something else. I'm glad you two are together again.
wandering
Come on, Naga, leave that man alone and have some mine.
[ He reached into his pack and took out a packet, pulling out bits of dried meat and offering them to the pup. ]
Before you get your friend in even more trouble.
no subject
Ah- Naga... [Korra sighs and shakes her head as she approaches and comes to a stop in front of the two.]
Sorry about her. She's just excited.
[Said with a small smile.]
no subject
[ Well, good to know some things were the same throughout the worlds - dogs liked treats. He squatted down to be more at Naga's level as he held out the piece for her to take, looking to Korra and giving a smile. ]
No problem at all. To be fair, I've gotten that excited about food before too.
no subject
I think we all have. Naga and I are both pretty big fans of food.
no subject
[ It didn't take much for Kirk to toss her another bit of meaty treat, grinning at the dog. ]
I kind of got that vibe off Naga. You are unexpected, but like dog, like master?
no subject
[A pause.]
Have you met Sokka, by chance? He and I are from the same tribe so... we both like food, I guess, though it's not really exclusive to our tribe.
[They just have a particular love of meat since their tribe fishes and hunts several months out of the year.]
no subject
[ There's a snort. ]
Yes, I met him. He stole the last piece of meat from me when I was guest on his ship.
[ And he's a captain. Really now. Kirk is not that impressed, huff, no matter how much Bev loves him. ]
He's obsessed with meat as I understand it. But I don't think you can be as bad as him, so I wouldn't worry to much about it.
no subject
[Sokka!! Though that probably was a figurative term. No one could get between a Water Tribe and their meat, okay.]
Yeah, I try not to steal food if I can help it.
[She gives a sheepish laugh, waving a dismissive hand.]
no subject
Well, I say stole, but it was the last piece, and as a captain you really should let a guest have it and wait for the next batch.
[ What? He was a captain too, he could judge. He chuckled thought. ]
That's a good life practice, so keep it up. Now if only this little one would learn it...
[ He poked Naga gently. ]
no subject
[She laughs a bit too, understanding what he was talking about now. Sokka was a bit strange at times.]
Yeah, Naga you could learn a thing or two from him.
[She grins, ruffling the pup's fur while Naga buried her nose with her paws in embarrassment.]
no subject
[ That might be an understatement. But for some reason Bev was fond of him. He laughs at the dog's display of embarrassment and reaches down, patting her head. ]
Well, no harm done this time, but remember to mind your manners. You are, after all, a representative of your people. Good impressions are important.
no subject
Hahaha- I think she gets it now.
[Korra can't help but give her dog a hug, overjoyed that she was there.]
So, what about you? Any friends from home? Naga's one of the few from home that I have here.
