[There is a mess of protein smashed together in front of him on the table. When the video turns on there's a rather bedraggled and stressed out Vash. Dark circles under his eyes and the rare frown on his face.]

Please! For the love of everything pure in the world! TELL ME SOMEONE HERE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE DONUTS OUT OF THIS STUFF!

[Vash will be trying to search down his crew mates after his short cry over the network. He has a question for each of them.]

So, apparently we need to pick a captain? You want the job? [Because he doesn't. He thinks he'd be bad at it, but he will if everyone else is adamant about not taking it.]

You never know until you try! Not saying you have to take the job, but have you tried it before? You might actually be really good!

Nooo... I've never led anything, and... it sounds like a lot of work.

Ugh. You're right. It does sound like a lot of work. And I've never tried it either. [Which is part of the reason he really doesn't want the job himself.]

I bet you'll be good at it, actually.

[pretty glad for even the slight change in focus. and he's easily all smiles again, putting on his best encouraging face]

I don't know... [He sighs in a dramatic way.] I'll just hope Ino or Katniss wants the job!

Sure! If they want the job and think they'd be fair captains!

If you say so. [he smiles, despite that he thinks it's kind of weird]

Why? You don't think so? I mean, I don't really know much about them either, but they don't seem too bad a choice for captain yet.

Girls just don't usually do that kind of thing, I guess.

[he shrugs]

Because guys usually do it.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't be just as good at it. [Vash is SLOWLY starting to guess what he's dealing with here. Slowly losing the jokes as he goes.]

[and Nel remains pretty oblivious. at least he doesn't sound terribly convicted about the whole thing]

I guess not. Guys just take charge more, you know?

Girls do that too. At least in my world they do. Trust me. A woman scorned is one of the scariest things to have to deal with!

[he laughs a little] That is true.

But yeah I guess the girls I know just... don't do stuff like that.
