Who: Renart
Broadcast: Text fleetwide
Action: Planetside
When: Post-shuffle
[Text]
[Renart does not want to be here. Sure, being out in space has to be a step up from that post-apocalyptic wasteland. Space is one of the few places she's never actually been to before, and since she's always wanted to she should be thrilled.
But there are important people back in that stupid wasteland. Ones that are liable to get into dangerous, possibly deadly situations without her there to keep them safe. She's hoping they've been pulled here too. Finding out is her main priority as she fiddles with her communicator, eventually figuring out how to send a quick message to the network at large.]
Since I happen to be completely mundane
Absolutely unremarkable
And entirely forgettable
Why don't you tell me about yourselves?
Where are you from? What is your home like?
I'll let you know when you can stop talking ฅ(^・ω・^ฅ)
[At the very least, maybe she can hunt down a few of them. Or people who know them.]
Oh, and does there happen to be a curated list of every individual who has been pulled here?
[Action]
[After she's demolished those pudding deserts and figured out how to get down to the actual planet she'll be doing just that in hopes of finding someone familiar. Thankfully no one seems to care too much about her ears and tail which means she doesn't bother hiding them - though, having to contend with such an affectionate civilization quickly wears thin and after several hours of searching she takes a break, making her way to the edge of the forests. For an animal Fairy Tale such as herself it's more relaxing, even if she doubts she's likely to find anyone important away from the hustle and bustle of the markets. Sadly, the friends she has in mind don't entirely share her preference for nature. They're all human, or were human, or are human-y. Not animals, basically.
Still, it doesn't mean she can't enjoy herself for a little while before she resumes searching. She'll keep her messenger bag (and her Story) close as she wanders through the trees, ears twitching in response to every subtle noise in the vicinity.]

What is your designated purpose?
I wasn't aware crows even had one of those
Most animals don't
no subject
but i was supposed to be a guide
dispense wisdom and infuriate people with riddles about their personal quests
that kind of shit
never cared much about the riddle aspect though and theres nothing i know that isnt obsolete these days
even my pop culture references are dated
they expired long ago no ones allowed to keep this stock on their shelves for resale no more
no subject
Well, this place must give you a lot more freedom, right?
The chance to be something that isn't a guide for others
no subject
guess?
a lot of people here must feel that way
like its a second chance somehow
but theres not really anything else for me to be and it seems kinda disingenuous to pretend otherwise
no subject
There isn't actually anything stopping you from becoming someone else aside from your own reluctance, right?
[Unlike herself, where her nature is literally written down in her soul and her only option is rewriting, which is never going to happen.]
no subject
or if you wanna go the cliche route
its complicated
im not the real dave so i dont really get those options
and to be honest all of the neon orange indicators in my life
myself included
unsubtly beat me over the fucking head with the flashing phosphorescent likelihood that im not gonna remember any of this
so there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of a point when i dont got one to start
[Other things he should be wondering: why is he saying this to someone he just met over the space internet.]
no subject
(^・x・^) I'll give you complicated
It sounds like it is
[Seriously there are more than a few points in all of that that she wants to ask about.]
Regardless
You shouldn't look exclusively towards the future
It might be important, but you live in the present and you shouldn't dismiss it
As well, fuck neon orange indicators
Listening to anything that tells you how to live your life will only make you regretful
Do what you want to do while you have the time to do it

When I was younger there was someone I should have met
But I was too concerned about other things and never bothered hunting him down
He grew old and died as humans are want to do, and I lost my chance forever
no subject
no subject
It's a long story
no subject
or is this the kind of story you dont tell someone like right after you meet them
no subject
I was trying to be subtle about it
no subject
but doing the dimensional shuffle has made me nosier than i used to be
maybe cause there are more than like four other people to talk to?
ill count that as my unnecessary epiphany for this conversation
no subject
Did you really only have four people to talk to before being here? That must have been painful
no subject
i mean itd be a lie to say i havent thought about any of this before but
im thinking about it
[He's still just not totally sure what to do with it, not for sure.]
anyway
thats sort of an exaggeration
there were a shitload of npcs to chat with but most of them didnt come with nuanced dialogue options
half the time theyd repeat themselves ad nauseam
and while im a garrulous motherfucker and can hold a decent ramble sans conversational partner
its really not the same as talking to players and there werent many of them around
no subject
It's not as if you have to race out the door and get proactive immediately
Just thinking about it again is a good start
And you get used to not having intelligent conversations, or you go crazy
But what is an NPC?
Does all this have to do with Asgard?
no subject
i dunno if you know what a video game is but the game part is whats important anyway so
i was playing a game with some friends
theyre the pcs or player characters in this scenario
while npcs are non player characters
and npcs come with all these handy preprogrammed features to help the players progress through the game but most of us are fucking dumbasses
im not really an exception if you wanna be real about it i just have a bigger vocabulary than most
no subject
I've never really played them, though
Just a few in arcades
So it goes without saying I have never met an NPC before
That must be a strange life, being preprogrammed
no subject
its a little too matrix for my tastes even if that was THE karate aesthetic for a while but its like ive got all this information loaded directly into my brain that i never had to bother learning
kind of like the augments maybe just with more cryptic terminology involved
no subject
The augments are not the most useful things
And I suppose this just makes you more used to having your mind altered
no subject
but yeah i guess so
even if it shores up a whole host of existential questions that are really melodramatic and probably the topic of more than one alt rock bands angsty debut album
no subject
So
If you ever feel like discussing said questions, feel free to find me
I've been around long enough to ask a few of them myself
no subject
thats
really nice of you?
most of my shit is pretty dumb to be honest but
thanks

I don't like being bored
