[So... is the whole stuffing-information-in-your-head somebody's Quirk? Because it's an especially scary one, if that's the case. Ochako can't help poking at the back of her neck, feeling for the augment, with an increasing level of alarm as she wanders through the ship she'd woken up in. The communicator gripped tightly in her hands has been all but useless, too- she's tried to call all the numbers she knows by heart, but they won't connect to anyone familiar. She really does appear to be alone in the middle of nowhere. And- okay, she's always liked space and the sky and stars and whatnot- sort of comes hand in hand with gravity control, she figures. But she didn't expect to ever go there. Certainly not without someone who knows what they're doing.

The communicator keeps flashing at her, though, so eventually she braves sending a message to the masses in the hopes of finding some familiar - or at least friendly - faces. Let's... try smiling...! Yes!]

So, um. That. Sure is a lot of space out there, haha!

I guess nobody out there's got a convenient Quirk that can send me home, huh?

[Smiling is good! And Kaworu thinks she's given a grand try. He's all too pleased to smile in return, and it's the gentlest, most sympathetic and easygoing expression he can muster. Most of his smiles are like that.]

It really is a lot of space. It makes one wonder.

Is quirkiness capable of that sort of thing, though? [He thinks it's possible he's missing some sort of idiom or cultural turn of phrase.]

Oh- no, not quirkiness, just- Quirk! It's like a superpower.

[Crap, it's pretty telling if people don't even know the term.]

I see... [Well, he... sort of sees?! He's trying to parse the meaning of the term— ] What does a superpower entail, exactly?

[Might come across as particularly odd, especially to someone who lived in a world full of superpowers, but Kaworu hasn't really been exposed to comic books or anything.]

[....yeah, that is... super weird. She's not even sure how to explain- she has literally never had to before.]

Umm... it depends on the person. Some people can run ridiculously fast, or shoot fire or explosions from their hands, or get super-strong punches! Or maybe powers from animals, or the ability to talk to animals... there's way too many to name.

[Here Kaworu's placidity gives way to outright curiosity. The sorts of people Atroma introduces him to never stop being surprising. Kaworu's not exactly a fan of surprises, but he does cherish the opportunity to learn from people...]

And, these are human beings?

Oh, for sure! Some might look different because of the Quirk, but we're definitely all human.

I see, [he says again. He pauses, contemplative, then offers,] Where I come from, a human being's abilities aren't so remarkable.

You said "we" — you also have a Quirk? Do all humans?

[A world of Quirkless? Or rather, if that's normal, there was never an event that caused Quirks to form in the first place? Huh.]

Oh wow... I can't even imagine a world like that. Back home, it's pretty rare for someone to not have some kind of Quirk.

And yep, I have one too! Anti-gravity.

That is, you invalidate gravity in an already existing area?

To whatever I touch, actually. Though it would be pretty cool if I could do a whole area!

[That's a little advanced for her.]

[He agrees it would be cool. But as things are,] That's truly wonderful. [He's smiling again, though there's more of an eager edge to it now.] I only have a little experience with lesser gravity.

Because you're in space?

[At least, that's what she assumes, considering their situation. Ooh, can they go outside in space suits? That would be way easier to train than just turning her Quirk on!]

Well, I was in space at a different point, before I came here. I was on the moon. I wasn't in any ship or station, at that time, so I wasn't affected by any artificial gravity.

....On the moon!?

[!!!]

Are you an astronaut?

[Kaworu laughs, but it isn't derisive. Charmed, more than anything.]

I'm not an astronaut. But I was a pilot, and I piloted something down to the Earth.

[He probably looks too young for that sort of thing, but he's also entirely nonchalant.]

[She's coming from a world where a bunch of kids are being trained to battle supervillains in an actual school, so her idea of what's age-appropriate might be a little skewed, anyway.]

Wow, wow!! That's amazing, you look so young!

[Ah, yes, teen heroes and their underage shenanigans. If only Kaworu knew literally anything about comics and capes.

But he just smiles and smiles, friendly and welcoming.] You look young, too.

Sure, but I'm still in high school. Piloting is a real job and everything! Were you in training?

[Well, it's easiest to say,] I had known I would be a pilot for some time.

Oh, you're following your dream, then? That's wonderful!

[She is probably making a whole lot of assumptions here, oops.]

[It's cute... And he isn't bothered in the slightest. Granted, it's not easy to bother him.]

I feel like I'm closer to my dreams now that I'm here, in fact. My time as a pilot is nothing compared to what I've been able to do here. I'm sure you'd like to hurry home, but I hope that your time with us can be fulfilling for you as well.

Make the most of it, huh...

[Well, that does make sense. As nervous as she is, she can recognize that this place is new and a little exciting, too.]

I can see the appeal. I do like space, so... maybe this is going to be fun.

There are a lot of fun things. [He's trying to be encouraging, so, while mellow, he's quite sunny, a pacific sort of livelihood.] You'll go to new places. Make new friends.

Right... I'm pretty good at that, so...!

[It'll be like going away to school all over again, surely! Just. Get out and about. Explore, be friendly, do her thing! Make everyone back home proud of her. Everyone back home, who is... not here...

....Right, anyway! Best to start here.]

I'm sure you're wonderful at it. [His smile is photo-ready, some sort of fashion mag regular on this crazy space journey, but he's wholly sincere; she seems like a nice girl and he's enjoyed speaking with her so far. That's true for most people he talks with, but that doesn't lesson this young woman's importance at all.] I've met good people here. Surely you will, too.
