002

Who: Theon Greyjoy
Broadcast: Fleetwide, second part only
Action: Paisley, first part
When: 8/1

[ Perhaps the crew has taken note of Theon's uncharacteristic silence. His presence has been somewhat less abrasive over the past few days, and it isn't because he's been out and exploring the planet. He's actually holed himself up in his cabin, leaving only to make a handful of attempts to focus on work in the armory--all of which lasted no longer than ten minutes. His thoughts have been elsewhere, somewhere where they can work his stomach into impossible knots and make his eyes see things that aren't actually there.

Broken, beaten, and flayed. Ever since his sister revealed the state in which she found him, Theon's mind just won't settle. The strange Reed boy only confirmed, in more horrific detail. Plenty. Your fingers, your toes, your teeth, your skin...You can't change it.

How is someone supposed to sit and wait passively for such a horrific fate? The anticipation alone is such a heavy burden. All of Theon's worries have whipped themselves up into an endless frenzy. Every corner her turns fills him with dread, and one too many times he thinks he sees Ramsay Snow out of the corner of his eye. Even when that proves to be his eyes playing tricks on him, there's that horrible voice ringing in his ears: burn it, burn it all.

When he finally exits his cabin to pay a trip to the kitchen, he doesn't look well. He's pale and disheveled and the shadows beneath his eyes are a telltale sign that he hasn't been sleeping. Upon reaching the kitchen, he doesn't actually open any of the cupboards or look for food. Instead, he paces the floor, hands curled into tight fists. His breathing goes ragged and he clenches his teeth, squeezing his eyes shut as tears sting at the corners of them. Suddenly, without a word or a shout, he stops, whips around, and begins to wreak havoc on the poor kitchen.

Eventually, if the noise or curiosity draws you in, you'll find him shaking with laughter, tears streaming down his face, and surrounded by the broken bits and pieces of the kettle, the microwave, the coffee maker, and a few plates--and a toaster that, while whole and working, carries an imprint of young Mr. Greyjoy's fist.

{OOC| Quick rundown for anyone who may not be on my plurk and whose character may be visiting the Paisley: Theon's had a pretty big chunk of his super unfortunate future revealed to him by castmates, which has sent him into an emotional spiral because he doesn't know how to handle his feelings. This is not a regular thing, I promise. }

Video

[ For those of you who missed Theon's meltdown on the Paisley, it's probably for the best. It wasn't a pretty sight, but later in the evening when the feed flickers to life and Theon greets the network, he clearly isn't himself.

He's disheveled, exhausted, and he actually doesn't spend time boasting about himself or his family. His message is short, to the point, and spoken in a hoarse voice.
]

Half of Westeros is already here. [ His eyebrows knit together. He's clearly been worrying about something. ] Can someone be prevented from coming here as well?

[Robb had no peace with his future. Sadness had made place for a lingering sort of anger. A prickly feeling that kept him on edge. He had decided to go out fighting. If they were planning on violating guestright after all, it would be folly to cling to it. And maybe he should have left a message to Theon that he would be coming over. Their conversations were never pleasant and their attempt at a friendship had failed right after they established it again.

Both were haunted by futures they deemed unable to change.

Instead of heading to Theon’s chambers the sound of destruction draw him away. Maybe he should alert this ship’s security officer first but the longer he waits, the problematic the damage would become. What he finds is Theon. Or, well...a mad man looking like Theon. Apparently he has thrashed half the kitchen while laughing and crying at the same time.

Somehow Robb had expected Theon to be stronger than this.]

Gods be good...what are you doing?

[Slowly he steps into the kitchen and picks up an unfortunate bread toasting machine and puts it back on the table.]

Calm down until your captain finds out and you find yourself in even more trouble.

[Robb wants to be polite about this. Approach it in a cool and collected way, like an adult would do. But Theon really wasn't doing well. Maybe everything finally drove him to madness. Something between guilt and pity goes through him and he knows that the last thing Theon could use was pity. He was no bloody woman, he did not need a warm embrace and a warm blanket.

And Robb would be the last one to deny that the words he mumbles do not get to him. He knows what they are about.]

You cannot do that to yourself, Theon. I am the one to blame for my mistakes.

[So Robb frowns a sad kind of frown before he lashes out and slaps Theon across the cheek.]

Madness does not fit you.

Indeed. It does not.

[In a way he is glad to see that Theon has come to his senses a little. That he does not say things like ’I wish I died besides him’ and what not. Really, Robb cannot hear such things at this point anymore. All he can do is blame his cock for stirring at the wrong moment and his sense of honor for choosing Jeyne.]

And do not say that again. That you wanted to die besides me. [He pulls a bit of a face.] If you cannot kill for me, do not tell me you want to die with me. [Bitter Robb is still bitter.]

I came to speak to you. [He tries to sound as distant and formal as he can.] But I wonder if it would be wise at a moment like this.

Thus you wanted to stay at my side. [A huff.] Too bad you have made such a discovery at such a late moment. [He can’t help it, he can’t help being snappy about this. Because, really, he would not have wanted anything less.

And, no Theon, dying on lord Walder’s floor is not a honorable death. It is one devised by traitors.]

I do not think you are in the position to throw anything at me, Theon. ’[Once again it is not easy to remain calm.] Such threats are empty and without purpose. [Robb’s eyes narrow a little.]

I should not have asked you to kill lord Bolton. It was wrong of me. [Not that he is actually sorry for asking Theon that, the only way to complete forgiveness would be Theon presenting him Roose’s head. But it would not matter here. Both of them were too afraid for their futures.

Nothing would come of it.]

I would still be dead. You have more chance of changing what lies ahead than I have, but it won’t be that.

Gods! [Robb can feel his anger flaring up again.] Are you deaf, Theon!? [Yes, Robb has made a bad lifechoice by sending Theon away, but his intentions were good. It would help Theon and help himself, so he thought.

He thought...]

Jojen Reed has not told me anything! Except that he took Bran far beyond the Wall! [Oh he is getting frustrated. Instead of trying to make some peace the urge to throw a variety of kitchen items through the air grows with every passing second.]

No one tells me anything. But it seems you are willing to do now.

[He sounds like a pouty, petulant child and he does not care.]
