Who: Theon Greyjoy
Broadcast: Fleetwide, second part only
Action: Paisley, first part
When: 8/1
[ Perhaps the crew has taken note of Theon's uncharacteristic silence. His presence has been somewhat less abrasive over the past few days, and it isn't because he's been out and exploring the planet. He's actually holed himself up in his cabin, leaving only to make a handful of attempts to focus on work in the armory--all of which lasted no longer than ten minutes. His thoughts have been elsewhere, somewhere where they can work his stomach into impossible knots and make his eyes see things that aren't actually there.
Broken, beaten, and flayed. Ever since his sister revealed the state in which she found him, Theon's mind just won't settle. The strange Reed boy only confirmed, in more horrific detail. Plenty. Your fingers, your toes, your teeth, your skin...You can't change it.
How is someone supposed to sit and wait passively for such a horrific fate? The anticipation alone is such a heavy burden. All of Theon's worries have whipped themselves up into an endless frenzy. Every corner her turns fills him with dread, and one too many times he thinks he sees Ramsay Snow out of the corner of his eye. Even when that proves to be his eyes playing tricks on him, there's that horrible voice ringing in his ears: burn it, burn it all.
When he finally exits his cabin to pay a trip to the kitchen, he doesn't look well. He's pale and disheveled and the shadows beneath his eyes are a telltale sign that he hasn't been sleeping. Upon reaching the kitchen, he doesn't actually open any of the cupboards or look for food. Instead, he paces the floor, hands curled into tight fists. His breathing goes ragged and he clenches his teeth, squeezing his eyes shut as tears sting at the corners of them. Suddenly, without a word or a shout, he stops, whips around, and begins to wreak havoc on the poor kitchen.
Eventually, if the noise or curiosity draws you in, you'll find him shaking with laughter, tears streaming down his face, and surrounded by the broken bits and pieces of the kettle, the microwave, the coffee maker, and a few plates--and a toaster that, while whole and working, carries an imprint of young Mr. Greyjoy's fist. ]
{OOC| Quick rundown for anyone who may not be on my plurk and whose character may be visiting the Paisley: Theon's had a pretty big chunk of his super unfortunate future revealed to him by castmates, which has sent him into an emotional spiral because he doesn't know how to handle his feelings. This is not a regular thing, I promise. }
Video
[ For those of you who missed Theon's meltdown on the Paisley, it's probably for the best. It wasn't a pretty sight, but later in the evening when the feed flickers to life and Theon greets the network, he clearly isn't himself.
He's disheveled, exhausted, and he actually doesn't spend time boasting about himself or his family. His message is short, to the point, and spoken in a hoarse voice. ]
Half of Westeros is already here. [ His eyebrows knit together. He's clearly been worrying about something. ] Can someone be prevented from coming here as well?

Re: action;
[ Color him surprised, really. Word of what he did to hold Winterfell spread through the fleet faster than he could even begin to defend himself, and even then, no one wanted to hear that defense anyway. ]
It's what he's going to do. He'll take my teeth, my fingers, my skin. [ And his name, but Jojen and Asha were both kind enough to withhold that information. ] I betrayed the Starks. It should have been Robb who decided what should happen to me.
action;
[Again, she listens. It's a pretty horrible fate to have hanging over you. And maybe there's some comforting stuff she could say, but it would go against her number one no bullshit policy.]
That really sucks. [Understatement, but she's not that great with words.] Do you live through it, or does sadistic fuckface kill you? [Since this is salient information that really dictates how to best respond to it now.]
action;
My sister found me alive.
[ Alive, but not fit to take his place as Balon's heir. That's a whole other complicated matter entirely. Somehow, a bark of bitter laughter escapes between his clenched teeth. ]
It hasn't happened yet and I already wish I'd died.
action;
You're tougher than you think.
[Wrath looks at him squarely, elbows resting on her thighs.]
And you're not going to like this. But no. Don't wish you'd died. Because as long as you're alive, no matter how shitty it is, there's a chance that you will get through it. That you'll eventually win.
Dead is just dead.
