Early this morning, a video might interrupt whatever you're doing. On one side of the screen, there's a beautiful lady with light brown hair. On the other, the pinkest pony ever to have walked the multi-verse.

Hey hey HEY, everybody! It's the start of a new month, and we've had a GREAT time on this planet so far, especially with all this yummy real food! Sooo Kitty and I have been planning a pizza party!

Um, right. So, you should come. I guess. [She doesn't know how to do group invites with ponies. What is life?]

We'll be in this HUGE clearing at THESE coordinates, so bring some smiles, your stomach, and maybe a side dish or snacks if you want too! We'll see you there! And Wrath: we've got chimmy cherry chongas~!

We had to use a few substitutes, but it's still pizza, so you know today's priority. Also a good time to check it out if you've never heard of it.

[Local vendors have been generous enough to loan the use of their ovens and some long wooden tables for the clearing. Sure enough, there's dozens of pies, plain or topped with meat or vegetables or both. There's also jugs and jugs of fruit juices and lemonade and punch, and an equally bountiful dessert table including apple tarts, cakes, donuts, and yes, chimmy cherry chongas. And the best part is there's not a single gel-based ingredient in sight. Feel free to add something to the bounty or just come in, grab a slice, and enjoy!]

[She laughs.] Do you remember me being a chef somehow? There are raw ingredients. I'm pretty sure we could make a mean stir fry. I'm not sure what else. Stuff. Things.

Compared to my wife, you're a culinary expert. [And for a moment, it only stings a little to talk about Linda. Mostly he's refraining the urge to snicker, remembering vividly the look of consternation on her face when yet another dish came out blackened.]

I'm going to end up being the one to experiment, aren't I?

[It's nice to hear him referencing her. She wonders if that means he's in a better place than he has been. She doesn't follow up there though.] Unless it's Vision. Leave it to the one who doesn't eat.

You know, I'm glad to see you in tact. Sascha said some concerning things.

[Temporarily, yes. Being bombarded with affection and the belief that he is a good man deserving of good things has buoyed his mood; whether it lasts once they leave is anyone's guess. Kurt is preparing for not, personally.

The expression on his face doesn't change when she mentions Sascha; it's his tail that stills in the middle of a vague gesture.] Did he? Well, I'm standing right here.

[Noticing that tail pause. Always watch the tail with Kurt.] He said he hunted you. [It's a wonder she didn't immediately call Kurt upon hearing that, but Sascha said he was fine.] I told him you're not prey. Not a sentence I expected to say today. [Trying to stay light. It is light, right? Nothing to worry about?]

[The tip of his tail twitches, an attempt at a dismissal. It looks nervous.] We were hunting with Bigby and Sascha got a little carried away. Got it into his head that it would be fun to tackle me. [He shrugs.] He startled me, I teleported away. Nothing more to it.

Yeah, I figured it was something like that. [So why doesn't it feel like something like that?]

So, you weren't hurt or bothered by it?

[Kurt snorts.] Kitty, please. I shared a home base with Wild Child, do you really think Sascha would be capable of hurting me when Kyle never managed it? I don't even have any bruises worth mentioning.

I know how tough you are, Mr. Darkholme. [She also knows how much it can throw you when something does catch you off guard like a concussion from a fight you should have had. She could just let it go here, but...]

What about the bothered part?

I told you, it startled me. I yelled at him; probably should apologize for that.

[This twitch of the tail looks irritated, but tense, the entirety of his tail kept just a bit closer to his body than he normally would.]

[Looking at him thoughtfully. Advance? Retreat?]

Your tail is being really weird about this. Don't make me hold your hand. [Of course she advanced.]

[Kurt takes a step back, almost like they're dancing. The humor on his face fades to a more genuine, cautious expression.]

Do you really think I'm going to be thinking about it now that you've warned me?

Kurt...? I just don't get it. Is it because he was excited about it? [Sascha did seem too excited.]

[ecclesiophobic]

[Hell, he's fucked this all up.]

..A bit. I thought for a minute he was going to eat me. [It isn't technically a lie, so his tail doesn't give him away. It doesn't do much except lower and curl loosely in a protective loop around a leg.] Nasty way to be reminded you're not as young as you used to be.

[She wishes she could brush it off completely with a "Sascha" would never do that, but the thing she knows best about Sascha that there's a lot she doesn't know. A lot he doesn't seem to know either. She cares about him. Loves him even. He seems harmless most of the time, but she doesn't like to underestimate people.]

That's kind of big. [Because she trusts Kurt's instincts and if they were telling him that then maybe there was something to it even though he obviously didn't. Kitty had felt unsettled as Sascha related the story too.]

I don't think he ever intended to hurt me, Kitty. I didn't--I felt his thoughts, there wasn't anything violent in them. [And still he'd teleported like his life depended on it, in part because of what he had felt and also--] I couldn't convince myself otherwise. He wouldn't have hurt me any more than little Charles when we used to play tag, I knew that, but I couldn't stop..

[The words trail into vague hand gestures meant to encompass the terror of being cornered by an enemy, the shot of adrenaline when he was cornered in battle and help wasn't coming fast enough.]

[She nods slowly. It's not the same then. Is that good or bad though?] Instincts took over?

Almost. I had to teleport away.

You wanted to fight instead of flight. [Softer.] Yeah.

I am too. [Because regardless of what Kurt might feel about what he saw in Sascha's head, the fact that he means Kurt no harm is undeniable.]

Funny, that this place of all we've been is the one giving me trouble. I terrified one of the locals.

Terrified them how? [It could be as little as just being seen. She kind of hopes for more but maybe that isn't a thing to hope for either.]

Was talking with a man who was fascinated with the skeletal structure of my hands and feet. Squat man, bit of a hooked nose, very wide mouth. He laughed and the resemblance was uncanny, for all that he only had two arms. He saw who he reminded me of and it frightened him.

[No, it horrified him and if Kurt had stuck around instead of teleporting away the man probably would've expressed as such once he got over the shock.]

[Her heart is beating just a little faster realizing who he means. Sugar Man. He was overseeing the forced-labor camp her students all died in. He might have killed some of them personally. She wouldn't know. She wasn't inside when it happened.]
