Early this morning, a video might interrupt whatever you're doing. On one side of the screen, there's a beautiful lady with light brown hair. On the other, the pinkest pony ever to have walked the multi-verse.

Hey hey HEY, everybody! It's the start of a new month, and we've had a GREAT time on this planet so far, especially with all this yummy real food! Sooo Kitty and I have been planning a pizza party!

Um, right. So, you should come. I guess. [She doesn't know how to do group invites with ponies. What is life?]

We'll be in this HUGE clearing at THESE coordinates, so bring some smiles, your stomach, and maybe a side dish or snacks if you want too! We'll see you there! And Wrath: we've got chimmy cherry chongas~!

We had to use a few substitutes, but it's still pizza, so you know today's priority. Also a good time to check it out if you've never heard of it.

[And with that, the feed ends and coordinates to the clearing show up on the communicators.]

[Local vendors have been generous enough to loan the use of their ovens and some long wooden tables for the clearing. Sure enough, there's dozens of pies, plain or topped with meat or vegetables or both. There's also jugs and jugs of fruit juices and lemonade and punch, and an equally bountiful dessert table including apple tarts, cakes, donuts, and yes, chimmy cherry chongas. And the best part is there's not a single gel-based ingredient in sight. Feel free to add something to the bounty or just come in, grab a slice, and enjoy!]

[Oh look it's Winn's favorite person. Completely not trying to scare years off his life by walking up behind him as silently as he can and leaning forward to mutter in his ear:]

Welcome back to the land of the living.

[ well, he doesn't scare years off his life, but he definitely makes him jump in his seat, head shooting sideways to stare right at him. experience helps him bounce back quickly, though, and he's instantly smiling at him. ]

Thanks - have you tried the pizza yet, it's freaking awesome - [ picking up a slice, he offers it to kurt ]

[Aw, the man's learning. Kurt is equal parts proud and determined to find new and exciting ways to give him grey hair. Mission accomplished, Kurt takes a step back lest the close quarters get awkward.]

I've tried a few, but I always have room for more food. [Kurt accepts the slice with his tail and an answering smile. It leaves a hand free to motion toward the labeled jugs he'd set on the drink table.] I brought cider, if you'd like some.

[ winn's lacking in many things, but learning speed ain't one of them. that being said, it's still not that hard to give him grey hair. and giving him grey hair -- well that's not a bad way to freak him out. kitty already occasionally makes him feel bad about his age. ]

Yeah, sounds good, thanks.

[Kurt takes that as permission to teleport away, leaving an implosion and a cloud of smoke and brimstone. He reappears by the drink table, fills them both up a glass, and returns in the same manner.

A body could not be blamed for thinking he's being obnoxious, but the expression on his face as he offers Winn one of the glasses is devoid of any mischief. After so many years bamfing, he occasionally forgets.] Bit of advice? Convince your girlfriend to have a few?

[ he's not loving the smell - but the show more than makes up for it. winn's eyes practically sparkle with excitement at this display of totally awesome superpowers. obnoxious? it takes a lot of restraint on winn's side not to beg him to do it again.

he takes the glass gratefully. ]

Thanks -- [ ok, that's curious - but kurt probably knows something he doesn't. maybe he's hinting she needs to unwind after his coma? or maybe he knows of a particular reaction she has to cider - either way, he's interested. he tilts his head slightly. ] why?

[There's the mischief when Kurt grins, his face lighting up in glee (metaphorically; physically with the way shadow plays across his face, his eyes almost appear to be glowing in contrast.)

He leans down to say, sotto voce:] Drunkenness in mutants comes with a certain loss of control over our powers. Telepaths in particular are horrible about it, but Kitty is too. A few times when she was younger Logan would cart her back, drunk as a lord and floating in the air behind him like a child's balloon.

-- seriously?

[ okay, that sounds freaking adorable. he's seen kitty drink, but obviously not enough. ]

Come on, sit with me, you got stories I need to hear.

[ he always wants to hang on tight to every last bit of goodness he hears about from their past because - well there doesn't seem to be much of it. what's there should be cultivated, treasures, preserved. ]

Is this a face that would lie? [Frequently, but not about this.

Kurt grins broadly and snags a chair, turning it backward so he can comfortably crouch on the seat and leave plenty of room for his tail to move.] I've told you about Kitty's horrible fashion sense when she was younger, ja?

You've mentioned it - but I think we can delve a little deeper.

[ winn turns his own chair to face kurt ]

I mentioned she was much fonder of bright colors, but did I specify that they were all neon?

It's tough to imagine - [ he looks over the crowd, catching kitty with his eye and shaking his head fondly ] she looks so normal now.

[Kurt turns his head slightly, following Winn's line of sight long enough to see Kitty. He smiles warmly and turns back to the conversation.] Oh, don't mistake me, she was an adorable girl who grew into a beautiful woman. But her clothes, ach. You know when you go into bright sunlight, then come inside and all you see is that green color? Swear to god that happened a few times looking at her, and Ororo wouldn't let anyone say a thing to her about it!

Friends don't let friends leave the house looking like that.

[ shaking his head, clearly not seriously judging ororo, he's sure she had her reasons. he knows kitty was frightened when she first joined the x-men, it was supposed to be her place to feel accepted. even. if she dressed like a clown. ]

[Those essentially were Ororo's reasons, and Kurt understands them! ..Now, with the maturity that years bring. He was still a teenager himself at the time, barely old enough to be considered a man under the old U.S. laws.]

Well, she didn't for missions. But when we were training, Kitty there was free to blind us all and she did frequently.

[The fondness in his smile turns to wistfulness.] Gott, I miss Ororo. There was a version of her that arrived here same time as I did, but vanished shortly after. Maybe she found a way home; wouldn't put it past that woman.

Kitty told me.

[ his voice turns sympathetic; he remembers all too clearly the day she came to tell him ororo was gone. it was just after his fight with kara. it was the day kitty made him realize he wasn't turning into his father. it's wrong, probably, to think of a day that was so full of grief for them fondly...but it was such a good day for him. ]

I hope she did.
