Hey hey HEY, everybody! It's the start of a new month, and we've had a GREAT time on this planet so far, especially with all this yummy real food! Sooo Kitty and I have been planning a pizza party!

Um, right. So, you should come. I guess. [She doesn't know how to do group invites with ponies. What is life?]

We'll be in this HUGE clearing at THESE coordinates, so bring some smiles, your stomach, and maybe a side dish or snacks if you want too! We'll see you there! And Wrath: we've got chimmy cherry chongas~!

We had to use a few substitutes, but it's still pizza, so you know today's priority. Also a good time to check it out if you've never heard of it.

[Local vendors have been generous enough to loan the use of their ovens and some long wooden tables for the clearing. Sure enough, there's dozens of pies, plain or topped with meat or vegetables or both. There's also jugs and jugs of fruit juices and lemonade and punch, and an equally bountiful dessert table including apple tarts, cakes, donuts, and yes, chimmy cherry chongas. And the best part is there's not a single gel-based ingredient in sight. Feel free to add something to the bounty or just come in, grab a slice, and enjoy!]

She's had a lot of good experiences holding hands this time around. And everyone's been so nice about it.] I hope it is for you too. Cause you're happy and all.

Yeah. [She smiles softly.] I am. I'm glad you're better and that Winn's back.

Things are really looking up, huh. I'm glad Winn's back too. I missed him, but not as much as you did.

I definitely win the missing him Olympics though I'm sure lots of people gave it a valiant try. He's kind of the heart of the fleet. Or maybe that's just how I see him. [Feeling so much love for that guy. Sorry to get the mush on you through the link, Wrath.]

I think you're right. He takes care of everyone, and he's more outgoing than Charles.

[Aw, she likes the mush. It's not quite what she's used to feeling. She loves people, but she's still figuring out how to do it, and it's... different. More focused on absolute trust and fierce protectiveness, because that's her frame of reference. There's some of that when she mentions Charles; he and Winter are the most important people in the fleet to her.]

You're a big fan of Charles, huh? [Should Erik and Kurt be worried?]

He and Winter are my best friends. I'd do anything for them.

[Though her feelings for Winter are slightly different. He takes care of her in a different way and understands her on a level Charles thankfully can't. But both of them are incredibly important to her.

But Charles... understands her even when she doesn't understand herself, sometimes.]

They're good guys. [And s he hasn't had a fight with Charles yet. That's in the future.] I was pretty close to a version of Charles in the prison. [Which makes it more complicated for her here. There's a loss. A disconnect. But she wants to be closer because of the one she was once close to and because he's a mutant. He also brings up some uncomfortable feelings wondering if her world wouldn't have been such a wasteland if only he'd survived. Seems to be the prevailing theory on what went wrong in her world.

She can feel how much they mean to Wrath though and that's important too. She doesn't always know what to make of the other woman, but she cares about her. She's crew. Maybe it's not quite the same as family to her yet, but it's getting closer every day.]

I'm glad you had a really good friend. [Friends are important, and still a very new thing in some ways.] The place you come from doesn't sound very nice.

[There isn't anything complicated about how Wrath feels about Kitty. She's part of the Windrose crew, which makes it duty and honor to serve with her, and protect her, and take care of her. That's what a good CO does for good crew, and everyone on the ship is excellent. Though she also knows the way she's used to taking care of her people isn't how it works anywhere else, and that's kind of terrifying in a quiet way.

She never knows how to deal with being a civilian.]

[Kitty had a year—maybe years since time felt different there—to adjust to a non-X-Men type of lifestyle. It's still not always easy. She doesn't always feel like she fits. Afraid she misses things other people understand instinctively or is too permissive of things others find abhorrent. Protecting others is what she knows best and she doesn't always know how to step back from that or who she is without it. She didn't realize she'd feel the same thing echoed in Wrath. Too close to see the similarities.]

It wasn't. But it's what I knew. [She had time before it became like that so there was still contrast. It's not all she ever grew up with. But it was still a long, formative part of her life.]

I'm glad you have friends here.

Yeah, that's how it goes... [Even if you know it's bad, you can't realize how bad until you're out of there.]

It's different, having friends. But I'm glad I do.

It takes adjusting. I mean we all live these wildly different lives and then we're here and even for people who have some similarities it's still a lot to adjust to. For a lot of reasons. [Because of losing people or gaining them or learning things about yourself or struggling to keep up and adapt.]

I haven't really met anyone who was similar to someone I knew. I... think I'm kind of glad. It would be really confusing.

It's definitely confusing. Knowing you don't have the same history or connection but still feeling some of that for them anyway. [It happens a lot with Erik and it happened in a bad way at first with Hank.]

Super confusing then. And... not really fair to either of you. Like you can't help your emotions or the things you remember but then it's also not something they can control. That sucks.

All true. But also... It's better than never seeing them again in any way. Most of the time. [Good pain?]

That's a really positive way to look at it. [Smile.]
