Politicians.

Politics is a way of life for me and my kin.

It didn't seem like you particularly enjoy it.

No. And I doubt anyone truly does. It is a way of life. If you do not learn to use it, it will use you.

My stepmother was such a tool. She was used by her father and then used by mine. She loved him and he did too, in his own way. Then she learned to love us.

The Order I belonged to do not involve themselves in politics precisely because we do not want to be someone's tools. Rather we are tools to forge civilization, peace and justice. But never for a particular individual's greed.

Something like that, my old master would say it's the will of the Force.

He would have the right of it.

But it'll take years for such things to change. My father tried a more direct way but it ended up using him as well. His intentions were good, but his legacy got away from him.

What was his legacy?

He went from being a man to becoming a god. His friends became his followers.

And how does a man become a god?

The right prophecy. The right powers. The right ground for believers to occur.

So much was planned and seeded for him to grow into a legend.

What went wrong?
How does a legacy get away from him if everything was set for him?

That's the problem. When everything is set, nothing can deviate. The future becomes locked into one timeline. One possibility. One end.

When people play with the future, they do not understand the ramifications. They do not understand time.

But it's understandable, isn't it? I don't think "playing with the future" is something people do unless it's under special and rare circumstances.

How do you understand time?

I understand why. That does not mean he should have done so.

People seem to think time is limited to the singular. As such, it becomes a matter of "do or do not". But when they limit their thinking, time itself becomes limited.

Why shouldn't he? The future is malleable and we change it all the time. People can't help but to think that it is singular because there's only one outcome that they would ever want and it's one where everything works out as it should.

It's only natural to want to strive for the one that is near perfect. I don't think they limit so much as hone the path they want.

No one should see and control the future. Wanting and having are very different in the end. He brought the universe to its knees for the one thing he wanted and he could not take it back.

Wanting is natural. Power is a responsibility.
