[In the spirit of keeping a low profile and capitalizing on the fact that most of the people of her world haven't seen her face, Phasma decides to break the network silence with an anonymous text post in order to attempt to gather intel.]

[Ever since her visit to the green planet before their departure, and her conversation with General Hux, she's been playing mute aboard her ship; observing, listening, using a minimalist pantomime where absolutely necessary. She doesn't trust her crew, she doesn't trust the ship, and she doesn't trust Atroma. The one person she does trust she's agreed not to contact unless in a guaranteed secure location, which isn't anywhere on the Fleet itself.]

[She keeps to herself, but if you're lucky you might catch her making a meal to take to her quarters (or the hanger, or wherever there is a quite, lonley spot). If she does happen to appear where there are people gathered, it's on the fringe, where she can quietly observe the conversation without feeling obligated to add to it.]

I didn't say that. I said I am perfectly fine not having someone control those things. You can't and shouldn't protect everyone from everything, keep them in little bubbles. That's not a life.

Control minimizes damage. Therefore, you sacrificing control creates an increase in damage. Increase in damage creates more likelihood of casualties. What is life if fleeting through the misthought of someone else's folly?

A government, group of individuals, devices, or other, that ensure a state free from threat or danger.

What is life, scared of every little thing? What is life without your own right to choose how to live it? That's not really life at all is it? It's just being a doll pulled by someone else's strings. I chose to leave the safety of Earth and explore unknown regions of space. With it comes risk. With it has come death. But I don't regret making the decision to go out there.

first things first: ] Why do you ask?

Not entirely as some security is needed to make society flow properly, but I could certainly do with less of it and more freedom. There's a point when the fear of things out of your control cuts not just into freedoms but into rights, into the ability to be a person, and that's what I fight against.

No one should have to give up their freedom entirely for other people's fear.

Security ought to involve freedom enough to be comfortable. If it doesn't, you need to rework your so-called security.

[ Isaac is always making food (or attempting to), and it just so happens he wanders in to make some at the same time Phasma is. He's seen her around, and knows there's new crew aboard what with all the confetti.

Isaac starts off by getting himself something to drink, fumbling around for a cup. ]

What if your thoughtless actions cause harm to another? Do you honestly believe your actions are solely your own, and do not reflect upon those around you?

They do. And they have caused harm. I won't deny that - I can never deny that, and I accept that responsibility. I'm not perfect, even as a captain. No one is. But that is also the nature of life - mistakes and bruises along the way. It isn't perfect. And I would never trade the scars I've earned for the promise of perfect safety. That's not a life. That's a sad lie.

That sounds reasonable. Too many believe they deserve every whim granted at the expense of their fellows.
