I don't like the rain. Wet fur is a hassle.

[A big one. And of course with that said she's suddenly launching herself at his coffee cup. It turns out she has absolutely no problems reaching the coffee maker, funny that. She latches onto the cup with her teeth and with a surprising amount of speed jumps off the counter.

Sending coffee everywhere.]

[By the time he understood what she was doing it was too late. He barely managed to step back but he was still splashed by some of the coffee.

His expression was dark when he looked up at her before he went to find something to wipe the liquid off his uniform.]

If that was an attempt to convince me to make coffee for you it was not well thought through, was it?

[She stops once her feet hit the ground, setting the coffee mug down so she can look into it. Alas, her spoils of war are mere dregs.]

This did not go quite as planned.

[But she glances over at Hux and lets out a barking laugh when she sees his state.]

It was worth it. Now you can remake enough for both of us.

That's not how it works. You can make your own.

[The mess wasn't terrible at least and he was able to get a good deal of it off. That didn't lessen his irritation though and he frowned as he glanced up at the fox.]

I can see why your kind are considered pests, however.

[He gets an amused little tailwag in response before she goes to jump back up onto the counter again.]

I could be kind and offer to remake yours as an apology, but I'd have to use my mouth to get it.

[Do you want fox germs in your coffee, Hux?]

Kind of you to offer but I'm going to pass. I will however make myself another cup though. And you can make your own.

[That is generous offer coming from him.]

[That isn't happening. She turns and proceeds to try and wrangle a mug out of the cupboard above her. Not an easy task but she'll manage.]

Why don't you tell me more about where you're from? I assume you had space travel.

[He's not helping her as he made himself a second cup, this time he's keeping it in his hand though.]

Yes, I spent most of my life on various ships much larger than this one.

[She'll mostly manage, though chances are it's going to be entirely amusing to watch a fox make coffee on a spaceship.]

This is my first space experience. What were those like?

Cold. Quiet more often than not. [Long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror for a 5 year old on a ship fleeing from the Republic.]

There weren't as many luxuries as there are here and little to no privacy.

[She pauses, glancing over at him.] It sounds as if you had a very unhappy childhood. That's unfortunate.

Unhappy? It was unconventional, certainly, but not entirely unpleasant. [He looked amused at the assumption though.] I was fortunate, to be given such an advantage.

How was any of that advantageous?

[She isn't seeing it, but she isn't exactly knowledgeable of how raising kids in space works compared to being in a country. She's well aware she's missing something here.]

I was able to see the operations on the bridge, learn from the Admiral as I grew up and that knowledge served me well in my own military career.

[He remembered sneaking onto the bridge whenever he had been able to, it was his favorite place to be.]

Ah, a military man. Not one of the ground troops, I'm guessing.

[She starts hitting buttons on the coffee machine with her nose, once she's got her mug in the right place.]

... Do you even have those? I've no idea how space militaries work.

We have ground troops, yes. I have several thousand troopers assigned to my flagship along with ground assault vehicles when needed.

[No definite numbers but it was general knowledge that star destroyers carried these things. He was proud of Finalizer but he wasn't going to get into specifics even if she wasn't Resistance.]

Several thousand? You must be high up on the chain of command, then.

[Maybe. On a planet someone in charge of that many people would be. She isn't sure how things scale in space warfare.]

I am, Harbinger is one of our largest destroyers in use. [The name of the destroyer changed as he and Phasma were trying to distance themselves from each other as much as possible.]

It was assigned to me five years ago when I was promoted to general.

[The Harbinger is a hilarious choice for a name either way. She doesn't have much of an opinion when it comes to war. Humans fight each other all the time, animals fight each other all the time. It's simply a thing that happens. At most she finds guns distasteful thanks to the world wars and proliferation of humans hunting Foxes with them.

So she's mostly just harmlessly curious about all this.]

Who were you fighting against, then? Anyone? Or was your home in a state of peace?

[It's completely serious name, he's even been on that ship. Imperial destroyer names aren't exactly known for being subtle though.]

We are fighting against the Republic and their militia- at least we were before I swept away the Republic.

[Such a nice term for wiped out a star system.]

We were at peace before the Emperor was murdered by rebels who then overthrew last of the Imperial forces and established their illegitimate government.

We were forced to fleet to the outer edges of the galaxy after Republic forces attacked former Imperial planets and forces.

I've never heard of either side. [Then again, those are awfully generic names. For all she knows she does know them, somehow.

Once her coffee is finished she's carefully moving her mug to the counter so she can lap at it.]

It all sounds very dramatic, though. Were you at the end of your rope, or did you have a plan to take back your planets?

We were once at the end of our rope but I can't say that's the case any longer.

[Not when they had the technology to destroy an entire star system.]

There is a plan, yes, but it will take time to re-establish order once more.

Isn't that good, then. [She's pretty amused, not caring one way or another about either side.] It's too bad you're stuck here, hm?

Yes, it is, stuck with a violent member of the Republic's militia who attacked my ship and abducted one of my troopers. And then there are the war criminals of the Old Republic here who encouraged and continued a galactic war. But yes, we're stuck.

[This is all said with utter seriousness. He's more than happy to turn people against the pilot and the Jedi when he could.]

[Wow, that's certainly an earful she didn't expect to get. It's a hilarious one too, she had no idea people like that were stuck here. She appreciates the information, she's never been a fan of that whole 'ignorance is bliss' idea.

She lets out a chirpy, birdlike noise. She's gekkering at him in amusement.]

Oh, you can't go and say all that and not tell me who these people are.
