The game isn't that bad. A good way to waste an hour. It gets easier, finding things to do.

[ Sure, he's been here for over a year, but others have been here even longer. Easy enough to try and settle in for lord knows how fucking long. ]

Is that how you pass the time then? I've never had idle time before arriving here. [He checked out a few of the files, opening the game briefly before turning the communicator off.]

I suppose there is little to do on the ship, even for the captain.

I try to catch up on things I've missed. Picked up some hobbies.

Easy enough to do between taking care of things.

So it seems- a ship with a crew of 8 is simple enough.

[He misses his star destroyer so much. Finalizer had been his home for the last 5 years.]

Between planets, there's not much to do. The fleet being attacked was a rare and brief occurrence.

[ He misses being busy as much as the next guy, but in the interim, actually being able to enjoy the free time is nice. ]

The fleet was attacked? Why whom? Or what? [Now this was interested.]

September of last year. Just after I arrived. A fleet opposed to this one. It's apparently happened once before, as well, though I wasn't present for it.

Just a random fleet? No information on what race these aliens belonged to? What did the ships look like?

I don't suppose you would know anything about the weaponry the other fleet had, that would help to see what I could do for this ship so it's better prepared. [But honestly his personal shuttle was more advanced than this ship it seemed.]

None. The ships were similar to our own in design and number, but little else is known about them.

[ All of that information is probably still buried in the archives, accessible via communicator, but if Hux hasn't gone looking, it's new information. ]

No dead, light injuries, minimal ship damages. Their weapons were no different than what is available to us.

Interesting. [He made a note to look for more information on that later, now that he knows the archives exist.]

I wonder what their motivations were.

As far as we can tell, steering us into the nebula we're in now.

[ Their motivations are probably the Atroma's. Whatever those fuckers have planned. ]

[Hux isn't going to ask what's in the nebula, he has learned that Atroma aren't really in the habit of explaining things already.]

Well, I suppose this will be interesting then. [He remarked as he slipped the datapad in the pocket of his coat]

We can't tell what will happen until it comes.

[ It's much the same for any situation that the Atroma throws them into. They have to cross the bridge when they come to it. There's very little warning with everything. ]

Mhmm. [Hux poured the last of the coffee in the pot into his cup, it wasn't as good as the caf he was used to even in the middle of nowhere in space but it was decent still.]

I should get back to work then, while it's quiet.

[Something he was certain he would never get entirely used.]

[ Space coffee is shit, Hux. Wait until they can get actual coffee beans again. ]

Doesn't tend to get too loud on this ship.

[ Which is great, because who the fuck wants to be on a constantly noisy ship?? ]

I've noticed but in my experience quiet doesn't last long. I'm not used to having quiet without something going wrong shortly afterward.

[Thank you, Kylo Ren, for destroying that last bit of his sanity.]

It's a tossup with the Atroma. Sometimes it's months of nothing, other times, you can't go more than a day or two without something happening in the fleet.

[ A pause. ]

Enjoy it before it's gone.

I plan to.

[He eyed Winter for a moment but said nothing more as he turned towards the door. Hopefully the quiet time would last for just an afternoon.]
