[He's getting used to this and his crew mates have been more than helpful in assisting him with this new technology so the video is steady as he smiles, inclining his head as the rubies in his headdress reflecting the light around him brightly.]

Now that I've had the opportunity to acquaint myself with my new surroundings I believed it was time to greet those of you I don't share a ship with.

I am Finwë and it is a pleasure to join you all here among the stars. [No title, he assumes he forfeited that upon his death anyway.]

It seems I have been assigned the role of personnel support on my ship but any in need of a sympathetic ear or company are always welcome to come to me on the Tourist at any time.

Perhaps I could convince my grandson here to cook some treats for me to have on hand for any visitors, he always makes the best cakes.

I can be dangerous, which is worse than useless. (The hug feels good and warm. He closes his eyes at the kiss and nuzzles his nose and brow against Finwë's neck.)

If ever you want me to leave you be, all you need do is ask.

I could never ask you to leave. [No matter what happened Finwe wouldn't leave his family.]

Nelya- you were the first grandbaby to be put into my arms. How could I let you go when you looked up at me with absolute trust and love then?

I absolutely trust and love you now. (He feels his cheeks warm and he peers up at Finwë, blue eyes open and without any facade whatsoever.)

I won't disappoint that love and trust. [At least, not again. He leaned down to kiss Maitimo's forehead affectionately, remembering that bright happy baby he had given the same kiss to before.]

You couldn't. (Maedhros has no right to hold anything against his grandfather - and he won't. That isn't how a family works in his opinion. The kiss ignites so many wonderful memories and he finds a genuine, relaxed smile for Finwë.)

[Finwe still felt responsible and lucky that his grandsons didn't seem to hate him.]

Thank you, Maitimo. But I mean it, if there is anything I can do for you you have but to ask.

(Carrying guilt is their family curse. Maedhros will not intensify Finwë's guilt if he can help it.)

May I...visit you? In the evenings? (It is difficult for him to rest. Some time with his grandfather might help.)

You may visit me at anytime but I will aside time for you specifically in the evenings.

[He will always have time for his precious first grandson.]

It's difficult for me to rest. I don't like the quiet very much. (He winces, wondering if he sounds childish.) My mind never stops when all is silent.

I will sing to you. I remember you favorite song when you were a little Elfling, perhaps it will help you rest better. [Sorry, Maedhros, to Finwe you will always be his little redhaired baby.]

I would not mind that. (He blushes, feeling somewhat awkward and yet...) I have not heard it in a long time.

[Finwe smiled affectionately, pulling his grandson closer.] Good, then it's settled.

(Maedhros rests against him, silent, calm and still.) Will you sing for my brother too?

Of course. And Finno as well. I will sing to any of you, anytime.

Right now? (He is almost afraid to ask, but Finwë might recognize those wide, hopeful blue eyes.)

Right now if you need it. [Finwe knows that look as he smiled.]

Snuggle with your grandfather and I will sing you your favorite song.

I do. (Admitting that is easier than he expected. Maybe because this is Finwë who has never judged him.

Maedhros tucks himself close, probably looking ridiculous. His good ear is uncovered and waiting.)

I like your voice.

Close your eyes, little one. It's time to rest. [Finwe kissed his grandson's forehead, not caring how they looked. Maitimo was happy and content and if anyone had a problem with that they would shortly have a problem with an angry elf grandpa.

He smiled as he stroked his grandson's hair as he did when Maedhros was an elfling, starting to sing softly, a song that originated back in Valinor, in the halls of the palace in a room where a little redhaired baby once needed to be sung to sleep.]

(There is nothing little about him, but he responds to the words as if he were a babe again. Maedhros doesn't care who watches; he has his grandfather and a stranger can never understand what that means to him. All of his anger and pain is quiet and he nestles as close as he can get, holding onto Finwë's robe with his only hand.)
