uhh kind of android means a humanoid shape though bb8 is an astromech so he looks kinda like a ball with a hemisphere on top and he comes up a little higher than my knees

oh yeah were buddies now and its good to have him here the ship felt really weird without an astromech on board

what do they do for you guys at home?

basically everything our ships dont have centralized computers because theyre too vulnerable to being taken over by a hostile force instead the duties are spread out between its droids this gives it redundancy in case a few droids malfunction or leave and because its a lot harder to take out all the droids than it is to take out all the biological crew especially because droids come in a ton of different models and types

that's really cool! and sounds like a great idea, honestly. we had some autonomous helper robots on my planet, but there are considerably fewer now.

take these ships were on theyre slaved to the marsiva in a lot of ways if they were run by droids instead of a central computer you couldnt do that at least not in the same way and we could probably escape not that we have anywhere to go but you get the point

Our helpers weren't, no. Small flying droids, though I've met some androids, like Vision.

theyd probably fit right in with our droids then i didnt know there were androids here though i guess i havent seen them around

Vision might be more complicated than I realize. Anyway, there was one at home, too, but he was being controlled by someone who was bad news.

im sure somebody somewhere found a way to control droids but thats why they make them in all different kinds of models and specialties so its more difficult like if you wanted to control a single squadron of xwings youd have to know what kind of astromechs all of them had and then have a way to control each of them itd be pretty hard if they were all the same it would be too easy just look at how the droid armies lost in like five minutes on naboo

Well, and this was the guy who created this particular android so he was in a unique position. but yeah, that sounds like a better system

oh it was a pretty stupid war between the trade federation and the republic but in a lot of ways it was where the empire started so its important to know and moreover the failure of a sustainable droid army was why the next big army that came up was clones and that led to stormtroopers and so on

soldiers conditioned from birth into absolute obedience to be the crack troops of the empire and then the first order they became a symbol of the absolute power those organizations controlled
