Who: Kate Bishop and YOU.
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: Lavandula + the Iskaulit.
When: Today
Ow, for futz sake -- [ the feed is shaky, at first -- as though the device and its owner has just fallen from some middling height. but it soon settles steady on an image of kate bishop -- bruised, dirty, but ultimately fine. although she's stubbornly wearing purples more often alligned with the spirit faction, she has alligned herself quite naturally with moxie -- deigning to at least braid white and gold ribbons into her black hair. sitting up on the poorly terra-formed ground, the feed reveals she's dressed in a superbly tailored hawkeye costume made from strong fabrics and flattering lines.
over her shoulder looms lavandula's tower. the intrepid young avenger followed the trills of a mysterious and now finds she herself thoroughtly defeated by the tower's bizarre internal architecture. this isn't the first time she's taken a tumble.
grumpily: ] This place is worse than a funhouse. [ ... ] Paging any and all Fleet folk -- anyone manage to track down this freaky-deaky flute music on Lavandula? All I'm finding are doors shut in my face. Not loving it.
[ LATER, she's back at the rehabilitation centre. she pays her modest fee and gets herself patched up -- bandages and all. so, once she takes a shuttle back to the iskaulit and shows up for work at málum, she's still looking a little worse for wear. take pity on her, málum patrons, because her usual bartender flair is suddenly subdued: she's got one arm in a sling. she'll still serve you, though. and with a smile! ...probably. ]

Okay. Count me in. This is a nut I wouldn't mind helping you crack.

Oh my God, see I knew you'd think this is fun. Does nobody but me find this terrifying?
[ pointedly gesturing towards the zooming menace ]

[ which is why the prospect of training against one is actually pretty fun. ] If only Speed was here to see this.

[ no way ]
Speed the Speedster. That's just sad.

[ though he has this little scolding look he usually gets at the notion of codenames that weren't invented by him. than again, different universe, he can accept that. ]
Your other friend needs a rename and fast. Speed is too obvious. You know before he was the Flash, some people called him the Streak. He hated it. I kinda love the Scarlet Speedster, too.

[ she's fond ok. ]

[ a groan of absolute pain!! ]
you can't be serious.
[ crushes don't excuse bad code names, kate. ]

[ remember lisa snart? ]
you can't date someone who's codename is speed. do you realize it sounds like you're dating road runner right?
no subject
[ just. y'know. benefiting from one another. not that she's about to spell that out in clear and uncertain terms. ]

[ js ]
you're biased is what you are.

[ protesting way too much. ]

[ doubt level is at a healthy 116% ]
alright, then. Just a Really Good Friend still needs a better codename.

[ ok, awesome! ]
Is he a speedster too? is it a family thing?

[ standing up, pointing at her ]
here? we have a speester here?
no subject
Yes.
no subject
oh my god.
[ and then, it's pacing. ]
I have to find a way to rebuild the treadmill - you have to introduce us. How fast can he go?
[ ... ]
It doesn't count as bff speedstering betrayal on Barry, right?
no subject
kate watches him pace. she isn't entirely certain what kind of mania she's sparked, but... ]
Look. I don't know him as well as I know, uh, other people. He's not even the Quicksilver from my universe. But I can try to arrange a meet-up?
no subject
[ cisco, good lord. ]
if he checks out, do you know what it means?
no subject
and she doesn't quite know how to explain that she'd probably trust this version of him over the one from her home. ]
no subject
[ and a good use, that would be. after all, they're better off with a speedster against zoom than without. ]
but a speedster can be plenty useful around here if he's fast enough.
[ like, fast enough to create a breach in the multiverse and take them all home. he tries not to feel the chill at the prospect at helping a speedster becoming faster so he could help him go home. tries not think of who did that before him.
it's not the same. he's not eobard. he'll never hurt anyone for his own goals. and yet, it's an uneasy thing, this similarity. ]
