[It's not every day that Stefan gets to spend time with two of his favorite people in the entire Fleet. Okay, maybe he gets to spend more time with them than the average person, but a whole afternoon? That's rare.

They'd agreed to meet on the moon and take part in its services. The yoga, the meditation, maybe even a formal tea brewing ceremony if there's time. Stefan wants to take notes and bring it all back to the Center - and if he were pressed, he'd admit that he wants some time off. Between the Center, the lab, and even the blood drive, he's been running on empty (caffeinated) fumes.

He can't remember the last time he got to stop and breathe, so he sits on the steps of the main rehab center and pulls out his diary. Might as well get some writing in beforehand.]

[Her words come out halted by tears and muffled by Stefan's shirt, but they should be clear enough.]

You're important to us. You deserved an explanation.

[He finally tears his gaze away from Misty to peer at Obi-Wan, and his guilt (and shame) is as clear as day. Stefan doesn't fear death. Not when he's died so many times before. But he sure understands that pain, and honestly - he wishes he were still a part of the living.]

[beardstrokes]

[ He purses his lips. Obi-Wan doesn't doubt the sentiment and he appreciates it, but this was private. Personal. ]

[It's only private and personal when the other party doesn't want him involved. Stefan pauses, tilting his head to see if the mistress of ceremonies'll return. He doesn't hear anything, so he'll go for the truth.]

I'll let Misty speak for herself, but uh - I'm a vampire. They're undead beings who feed off blood - animal, human, it makes no difference, and they're only created whenever a human dies with their blood. Until I came here, I hadn't met anyone that liked them.

[He gives Obi-Wan a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes.] I'm sorry. I know I wasn't upfront and - that's on me. I didn't want you to leave.

[Stefan's confession helps give her some strength and Misty's crying calms down some as a result. She sits up, sniffs, and wipes at her eyes with an impatient hand, waiting to see what Obi-Wan will say.]

[ Obi-Wan's expression turns baffled before it relaxes. He's not particularly upset by the turn of events - though in a way, he underestimated himself. Obi-Wan never sees himself as valued. ]

Did you really believe I would do that?

[stefanged]

Kind of. [Stefan nods, wiping away at tears that threaten to spill over.]

I know vampires don't exist in your universe, but when most people find out? They take one look at me and that's it, that's the end of the road.

[mistyday]

[Misty's voice is quiet as she speaks.]

Most people don't trust people like us.

[beardstrokes]

And am I those people now?

[ Perhaps he is a little hurt - knowing them for so long and being kept in the dark. ]

[mistyday]

[Misty's eyes get big and she shakes her head vigorously.]

No!

[Then she's out of her chair and throwing her arms around Obi-Wan's neck. It's an awkward hug to be sure, what with him still sitting down, but it's full of feeling.]

You ain't like that at all!

[stefanged]

Of course not.

[Misty's kinda beaten him to the punch, but Stefan's standing up too.]

You're our friend, aren't you?

[beardstrokes]

I . . . certainly believed so.

[ Though it's difficult for him to voice properly. He grasps Misty's shoulders lightly. ]

You are, you are!

[Misty's tearing up again as she lets go of Obi-Wan.]

I never want you to feel any differently and I'm sorry for not tellin' you before.

[She glances over at Stefan.]

Even he doesn't know the whole of it yet.

Exactly, even I -

[ . . . wait.]

I don't?

[mistyday]

[She shakes her head and takes his hand very solemnly.]

I promise I wasn't tryin' to hide it, exactly, but... I don't want to have to think about that stuff when I'm with you [She turns to Obi-Wan] with either of you. I've never had friends like this before. Not real friends. But I'll tell you everything, you deserve to know.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan exhales softly. ]

No. I can't say I don't have my fair share of secrets.

[mistyday]

And that's okay. You don't have to tell us nothing you ain't ready to talk about. But this is important.

[stefanged]

[Stefan nods, sitting back down and curling one leg up under him.]

Plus, we didn't exactly tell you right away. We're not in a position to judge.

[beardstrokes]

Nor am I, to be honest.

[ Not that Obi-Wan would, but he can be a little judgmental. ]

It's all right. Really.

[mistyday]

[Misty squats down so she's eye-level with Obi-Wan and rests her hands on his forearm.]

I want to tell you. Much as I hate thinking about it, I can't just keep pretending it didn't happen.

[She takes a deep breath before continuing.]
