[There's a strangely familiar cold that has settled in her bones, a dreadful chill that disorients her in the first few moments that she's awake. Her first thought is that something went wrong - very wrong - as they passed through the temporal distortion, but then... as she sits up and takes in her surroundings, the memories all come back in a flood. Atroma has brought Beverly back, a little older, a little blonder, and with a new Starfleet uniform.

Or maybe I never left, she thinks. This is not the Marsiva, these are her quarters aboard the Blue Fish, and none of her things look as if they've been moved. Though admittedly, her memories of Drift Fleet seem distant. By her reckoning, it's been three years since she's seen this room.

Not that "time" really means much, considering what's happened in the past few days.

The communicator rests where she left it on the bedside table. When she picks it up, she finds it's full of unread messages, crewmates and friends wondering where she is, each message sounding more alarmed than the last. With a sinking feeling in her stomach, she checks today's date: September first.]

Damn!

[Immediately, she sends a message to the network, via video:]

This is Dr. Crusher of the... SS Blue Fish. It seems our gracious captors sent me home for a while. I'm back now, and I'm safe, and I'm sorry to everyone who was trying to contact me this month. I'll be on the Blue Fish if you need me.

[There's a pause, as if she's about to say something else, but then she simply gives them a small smile, one that doesn't quite reach her eyes.]

Thank you.

[The feed cuts off and after a moment, she decides to head for the kitchen. Not that she's particularly hungry but - there's a good chance that's where she'll find at least a few of her crewmates.]

I don't think I need but can I come over anyway?

[OK, TRY NOT TO FREAK OUT.

ok she's totally going to cry. Sorry Bev, she can't really speak right now.]

Welcome back. Are you all right?

[Well now, that's a relief. Silence can be an indicator that someone has been sent home, after all.]

May I say it is good to see you again?

Of course. I'd be happy to see you.

I'll be over in a few, then.

[ and she is pretty quick. she probably does a quick scan of the ship to see where Beverly is and comes right to her, immediately offering a hug ]

[Riona sees the video first, but she doesn't bother to reply. She just make s a beeline for the ship, scooping up Kiter and carrying him with. She only sets him down when they get on the ship and they're both running towards the kitchen.

Riona makes a noisy entrance, her boots squeaking on the floor as she slides to a stop.]

Beverly! [Her voice is full of relief as she hurries to her.] We had no idea where you were! Are you all right?

[She's here. She's here and she's alive and she remembers. Sokka doesn't even reply to the message. He just races off through the ship, trying to find her. When he comes across her in the kitchen (she looks different, how long as it been) he races right into a hug.

Incoming Sokka hug. No escape. ]

Jennifer...

[Oh god, seeing Jennifer cry just tears at Beverly's heart - and fills her with no small amount of irrational guilt. Three years, for three years she didn't even remember one of her best friends. Her own eyes well up with tears and her voice shakes a little when she speaks.]

I'm coming over right now, don't go anywhere.

[And she'll be there as soon as the shuttle can take her.]

[ Ever since Beverly went missing, he's been worried. Sure, he preferred to act cool and collected in front of most people, he reassured people again and again it'll be okay - but inside the worry had gnawed at him all month. He's had people go missing on him before. More often than not, they turned up dead. ]

[ So the moment he hears Beverly's voice on the network? Sees her face? He too doesn't bother to respond and race off to find her, feeling a rush of emotions. The kitchen is the first place he looks, because hey that's where the Blue Fish people go. The moment he sees her? He starts tearing up. She's really here. She remembers. Everything is actually okay.]

Beverly!

[Like Sokka, he runs over to hug her right away. ]

I'm... as well as can be expected.

[Beverly's smile is a little brighter, a little more genuine this time.]

And you as well.

[She has to admit, she's worried that she'll find people have left in her absence, so it's a relief to see many of her friends are still here.]

It's been a long time.

A few weeks to us here, but I fully understand the feeling. [After all, he'd been knocked out for a few hours and lived an entire lifetime.]

Has it been so long for you?

I'm glad, but... That doesn't mean you're all right.

[She sounds worried.]

[Beverly turns at the sound of Riona's boots and gives her a warm smile - this one reaching her eyes. Riona's face is a welcome sight.]

I'm fine. Physically, anyway. A lot has happened since I left.

[Beverly holds out both hands to the other woman.]

But let me look at you. You're all right? And the crew?

[Beverly stumbles a few steps backwards from the force of Sokka's hug, but she laughs, while simultaneously tearing up, overwhelmed by flood of emotions she's feeling upon seeing him. Guilt and surprise, yes, but most of all love. Holding him close, she kisses his forehead, not yet trusting herself to speak.

[Oh no, no don't cry if he cries, she's - too late. She thought she was all cried out with Sokka but that is clearly not so. Still, she's smiling through the tears.]

Allen!

[Beverly barely has time to get his name out before his arms are around her. She pulls him in tight.]

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.

[Beverly's not at all surprised by how fast Kara finds her - if she needed any more proof that she really had disappeared from the fleet, this was enough. No way between Kara and Timcanpy would she have been lost.]

Kara! [Beverly returns the hug easily.] It's good to see you!

[Beverly nods.]

Three years.

[ hug hug ]

I missed you. I'm so glad you're back with us.

[He raises his brow and shakes his head.]

That's quite the journey. Are you well?

[Wanda had heard of Beverly's disappearance. The context sounded similar to what had happened to her, so she had tried to remain calm and to not worry too much. Surely, it would mean that Beverly would return soon? Still, as the days wore on, it became harder and harder not to worry. When Beverly's broadcast appears on her communicator, Wanda lets out a relieved sigh that feels as though she'd been holding it for a long time. She quickly switches on her own communicator's video feed.]

It is good to see you back.

[A genuine smile of happiness and relief on her face, Wand then adds in a more playful tone:]

I like the hair.

[He hugs her for what feels like an eternity. He was so worried. He didn't know if Atroma had taken her or if she'd somehow got herself hurt or stuck or dead somewhere. It's not been an easy time for him, and he clings to her tightly, like a life raft. When he does speak, he lessens his grip but he doesn't let her go.]

What happened to you? I've been looking everywhere for you. I was so scared something awful had happened to you.

[yeah sorry, you get Allen tears. He hugs her back tightly and sniffs.]

No, it's-

Are you alright? We looked everywhere for you!

[Beverly hears the worry and can't help but be touched a little.]

I promise, I'm not injured or hurt. Just... it's been a very long two days for me and I haven't had time to recuperate from what's been going on at home.
