02 ★ good morning, sunshine
Who: Padmé Amaidala & you
Broadcast: video
Action: on the Heron
When: September 4th - evening
[ Padmé’s been asleep for about a month, but she still seems a little tired. As usual, she’s sitting in her office when she broadcasts. ]
Good morning, everyone. [ She smiles kindly, though it doesn’t dispel the glimmer of melancholy in her eyes. ] For those who do not know me, my name is Padmé Amidala. Apparently I took a month-long nap-- I apologize for any inconvenience I’ve caused for my crew. I may need a little help catching up on current events.
[ She pauses, unsure. ] I do have a different sort of question. Has anyone experienced side-effects from our stay on Hea-Guaa?
[ Because her telepathy augment upgrade seems to have finally kicked in. ]
[ Padmé is idly walking through the Heron. Officially, she’s checking their supplies and making sure there aren’t any pressing issues to take care of. She rather hopes there’s some kind of pressing issue, if only to take her mind off of everything and bring her back to her everyday life on the Fleet. But she’s clearly restless and distracted. ]

Han Solo?
Yeah, s'me. I don't remember you, though. [At least not outside of what little he does already know.]
[ Sympathetically: ] I'm sorry, that's a terrible introduction. I'm Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo. [ A beat. ] A relative of Leia Organa.
[video] i'm so sorry i thought i replied to this wtf self
You're her mother. [Stated plainly, with some surprise for how young the woman is--it's obvious enough, he can see Leia in her eyes, in the way she holds herself. Senator.] Guess it does run in the family.
[It remains unsaid, means plenty of things: the position of Senator, for one thing. The dark eyes. The smile, and that little glimmer of sadness. (If you see our son, bring him home.)]
No, it's not hard to believe--you're not the first one to tell me I've been here before. [And, apparently, much younger on top of that.] Seems as common as month-long naps here.
[video] it's totally cool
I'm sorry-- I didn't intend to mislead you. I was going to ease into that. Arriving here is overwhelming enough as it is.
And, yes, the naps aren't entirely uncommon. We suspect it has to do with an augment glitch, but it's hard to know for sure.
Could say that--but where I was right before I got here makes this look a hell of a lot better. [Which is an easy enough feat, considering he was on Starkiller Base before he was here.] 'Sides, I already met a few others from--around your time, I'm guessing.
[Han covers his mouth at that last part, gives a muffled noise that sounds like a groan. He'd curse, but he's suddenly much more conscious of himself, with Leia's mother on the other end of the line. So this is what meeting the parents feels like, usually.]
So they do glitch for longer. [He knew it.] They--the naps, I mean--ever last longer than a month?
no subject
No, I don't recall them lasting any longer. [ With a sigh: ] The augments are still a mystery, and any attempt to study them ends in failure.
[ Just in case he was getting ideas. ]
