[ Padmé’s been asleep for about a month, but she still seems a little tired. As usual, she’s sitting in her office when she broadcasts. ]

Good morning, everyone. [ She smiles kindly, though it doesn’t dispel the glimmer of melancholy in her eyes. ] For those who do not know me, my name is Padmé Amidala. Apparently I took a month-long nap-- I apologize for any inconvenience I’ve caused for my crew. I may need a little help catching up on current events.

[ She pauses, unsure. ] I do have a different sort of question. Has anyone experienced side-effects from our stay on Hea-Guaa?

[ Because her telepathy augment upgrade seems to have finally kicked in. ]

[ Padmé is idly walking through the Heron. Officially, she’s checking their supplies and making sure there aren’t any pressing issues to take care of. She rather hopes there’s some kind of pressing issue, if only to take her mind off of everything and bring her back to her everyday life on the Fleet. But she’s clearly restless and distracted. ]

[After his day and a half away from the Heron the last thing he's expecting is to suddenly be face to face with Padmé Amidala herself.

When the Emperor had reformed the Republic he hadn't entirely erased her legacy as he had with many other things. Her public service record, including her work in the Senate, had all been included in the Imperial records. He had only looked at her files a few times with curiosity but he still recognized her.

He raised his chin, clasping his hands behind his back as he looked at her for a moment. It was too late to pretend he didn't see her anyway.]

Padmé Amidala, what a surprise.

[ She hasn't spoken to him since their brief interaction over the network, even though he's been assigned to her ship. Things tend to get chaotic on the Fleet, especially when they're docked.

Padmé's expression is neutral, and her voice is calm and even. ]

You're Hux, correct?

[He hadn't had a chance to meet her face to face before but he wasn't quite sure what to make of her so far but he was curious if Ren took after his grandmother at all.

His own expression remained neutral as well, he wasn't going to make this hostile unless she decided to.]

I was unaware you were a part of the crew here.

[ Padme gets the feeling she's being studied. Assessed? Or maybe she's just imagining it. In any case, she carries on the conversation as she would with a stranger she doesn't entirely trust. She did see some of his comments to Obi-Wan on his initial post. ]

I'm the first mate, actually. The Atroma assigned me as the crew's therapist as well.

[He honestly was failing to see how she and Ren could possibly be related- it seemed Ren had taken more after his grandfather instead. Still, he couldn't help but wonder what Ren would make of Padme.]

Therapist? What does that assignment entail?

[ Wryly: ] Primarily sitting in an empty office.

[ Nobody seems interested in actually talking to a therapist. Go figure. ]

[That involves talking about feelings and parental issues, yuck.]

Yes, I can see why there would be a demand for that here.

[Actually, he's not all impressed with this ship or its crew.]

Is that all you do on the ship then?

[ Padmé raises her eyebrow, sensing his judgement. ]

I also keep track of supplies and can mediate conflicts, when I am made aware of them.

Well, I'm sure you must be busy given some of the crew here seems to be irrational and emotional at best. If you're here hopefully that means perhaps I won't have to hear about their issues constantly.

[Between Winter and Erik, Hux really was tired of hearing about how awful their one primitive planet was.]

Are you lodging a formal complaint?

[He considered for a moment, weighing the option. He had no doubt that if Erik really wanted to kill him Padme wouldn't be able to prevent that. Besides, he wanted to explore more interesting ways to deal with him.]

For now, no. However, you should know Erik rather dangerous. He decided to lash out at me in an irrational rage because I reminded him of someone from his planet. Perhaps you should speak with him about getting some help about that.

[ Not to chastise or to punish, but to get his side of the story. Whatever Hux is, she can't have fighting on the Heron. If the Fleet is fighting itself, they might miss an opportunity to do something about the Atroma. ]

Oh good. I would hate for him to hurt someone else if he can't control himself.

[No, he wasn't concerned in the least but he could at least pretend for a moment though he doubted it was convincing.]

What do you do in your free time aboard the Heron? I don't see you around often.

[ Not that she goes out of her way to look for him, but she does try to keep an eye on the crew. For one reason or another. ]

I manage to keep myself occupied with various projects on the ship. [Honestly, he hated free time. It was so counter productive and made him uncomfortable to have time where he could just sit around.]
