[ Padmé’s been asleep for about a month, but she still seems a little tired. As usual, she’s sitting in her office when she broadcasts. ]

Good morning, everyone. [ She smiles kindly, though it doesn’t dispel the glimmer of melancholy in her eyes. ] For those who do not know me, my name is Padmé Amidala. Apparently I took a month-long nap-- I apologize for any inconvenience I’ve caused for my crew. I may need a little help catching up on current events.

[ She pauses, unsure. ] I do have a different sort of question. Has anyone experienced side-effects from our stay on Hea-Guaa?

[ Because her telepathy augment upgrade seems to have finally kicked in. ]

[ Padmé is idly walking through the Heron. Officially, she’s checking their supplies and making sure there aren’t any pressing issues to take care of. She rather hopes there’s some kind of pressing issue, if only to take her mind off of everything and bring her back to her everyday life on the Fleet. But she’s clearly restless and distracted. ]

I suppose it could be worse. Hux hasn't done anything in particular and while Barriss' arrival has shaken things up, everyone seems to be coping.

[ Padme's expression hardens slightly at the mention of Barriss. The memory of Ahsoka on the stand, risking the death penalty for a crime she didn't commit, surfaces sharply. ]

I sincerely hope it stays that way.

[ Her voice is a touch too sharp, her expression too hard, for it to be just a turn of phrase. ]

[ He blinks, surprised by Padme's tone. Then the realization hits him. ]

You remember.

[ Padme encrypts their conversation before sighing. ]

Yes. Two years' worth of memories.

[ Two years. Obi-Wan's expression shutters briefly. ]

It must have been quite taxing.

[ That's the most she can do right now. ]

[ Padmé hesitates. She knows what happened to Satine now. That knowledge made some of her memories on the Fleet sharper, more poignant. The look on his face at the masquerade when he'd told her that Satine had died. Was murdered, she later discovered. Padmé looks at him like she's seeing something for the first time.

His love. His grief. ]

[ Oh. She'd been staring. Padmé looks a touch embarrassed. ]

I'm sorry. That has been happening since I woke up.

I have context for things that happened on the Fleet, things I didn't fully grasp before. It's... [ she pauses, trying to describe it. ] ...as if I'm remembering two things at once.

Another pause before, quietly:]

I'm sorry.

[ It could mean anything, but she knows he'll figure it out. She's sorry she pushed him about Satine. But, right now, that's a very sore subject for her. And she knows it must be one for him as well.

Losing someone changes you forever. ]

[ Obi-Wan doesn't respond. He doesn't need to, he shouldn't have to. He doesn't want anyone's pity or sympathies. When everything was burning, what difference does it make who was sorry?
