Mama Knows Best
Who: Lailah and YOU
Broadcast: Video; Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva's Hospitality Deck
When: 9/7, after that bull ship went down
[When Lailah wakes up to strange and extremely unfamiliar surroundings, she feels disoriented and confused about everything. However, those feelings take an immediate backseat as she bolts upright with a gasp, hand clutching at her heart. She looks sick and in pain. Her eyes dart around the room frantically as she scrambles to stand up from the cot.
She knows this feeling. She’s sensed it so many times in the people around her, and on a handful of occasions from her own former Shepherds. Paradoxically, this is a sensation that’s entirely new, too. Someone she never in her wildest nightmares thinks she’d ever feel it from....]
Sorey…?
[Her words are a horrified whisper. Lailah feels that she has a pact with Sorey again, a Shepherd and dear friend she hasn’t seen in a long, long time, now. She’s not sure how, but the fire seraph isn’t going to question it for the time being. What’s more important is that she’s sensing it from both Sorey and...Mikleo, but she can’t be certain. Lailah’s sure that one of her Sub Lords has been corrupted, though, and if it’s Mikleo, then...she wonders which one fell first.
Ultimately, it’s not important.
The fire seraph runs out of the room. She sprints down the hall, looking in every door to see if she can find Sorey. He needs her, right now. Lailah’s heels are a constant click-click against the floor as she barely slows down in her search. She goes over every room she can access twice, trying to make sure she hasn’t missed him. Eventually, Lailah returns to her room, scared and worried but not for herself. Her attention is totally on Sorey and what she can only assume is Mikleo. If one falls, then the other will surely follow or die trying in the attempt to help the other.
Then, Lailah notices that there’s some kind of strange device in the room. It might be nothing, but...there’s a chance, however small, that it might be something used to communicate with other people. Even if it’s not, even if nobody will be able to see or hear her, Lailah has to try. She needs to do everything she can for two people who are precious and irreplaceable to her.]
Please, does anyone know where Sorey is?! He has brown hair, green eyes, and wears feather earrings! He’s in trouble and I need to get to him as soon as possible!
[And now she waits. Silent. Praying. Praying to Maotelus and the other Four Lords to please please please keep him safe, keep him able to be purified. Lailah doesn’t want to lose Sorey to malevolence, too. He doesn’t deserve that fate. He doesn’t deserve to die in some unfamiliar world. Neither does Mikleo, though the fire searph fears that it’s too late for the younger seraph. She prays that the other Sub Lords are also safe and well, not wanting to lose them, either.
Please, please, they deserve a kinder fate than this.]
{OOC: please note that she probably won't be seen/heard by normal humans. any questions about it, though, pls PM me!}

[He offers her a smile]
I'm Allen Walker. Nice to meet you despite the circumstances, Lailah.
Video;
Likewise, Allen. If you have any questions for me, I'd be happy to answer them.
[...Within reason. Since there are some that she can't answer for...uh...reasons.]
Video;
Alright...are you able to tell how Mikleo is? Is he... [Well, a dragon]
Video;
I believe that with the amount of malevolence from Sorey, and judging by the strength of Mikleo's as well, he would most likely be a dragon right now. If any seraph had been in Sorey's domain when it completely took him, then...they, too, would've met the same fate.
Video; 1/2
Mikleo....
[He's learned enough to know what becoming a dragon means. Even if he could purify Sorey, he knows even his Innocence couldn't purify an entire dragon worth of malevolence. Not without destroying Mikleo in the process.]
[ His chest hurts, he sniffs as his eyes water up some. It wasn't supposed to go this way. None of this was supposed to happen. ]
...You idiot. I thought you were supposed to be the smart one. How's Sorey going to feel when he's back and you're not?
Video;
...What about the other Seraphim? You said one was corrupted- does that mean Dezel's still alright?
[And that other guy. Who the eff is Zaveid?]
Video;
Then she jolts when he says 'Dezel.']
Dezel? He's here?
[—He's asked a question, though. Lailah closes her eyes for a moment before opening them again.]
I can't sense a pact with him. However, I can sense that Zaveid hasn't fallen.
Video; 1/3
Yeah, he's here. He 's a cook at Crowley's snobby bar-
Video; 2/3
Video; 3/3
Are you saying that creepy shirtless man is a Seraph too?!
Video;
Yes, he is. He's one of the oldest seraphim I know, and so has seen much good and bad. I don't believe he'll fall easily, but....
[Eizen comes to mind, and she feels horrible about it. Lailah's sure that Dezel isn't in a better emotional state, either.]
Video;
[Jeez what is his life...but even if he finds Zaveid creepy, it's not like he wants him to die]
...Right...
I'll keep an eye out for both of them.
Video;
Thank you, Allen. I'm sorry we have to ask this of you.
[This isn't exactly a burden she wants to put on anyone. However, being stuck here and with no other way to help in the purification process, Lailah's useless. Useless and stuck with her own thoughts, her own guilt at not being here when they really needed her, at being unable to get there to them in time now that she is.
But it's a burden the fire seraph will bear, just as she has in the past.]
Video;
It's alright.
I'm sad about Mikleo and Sorey, and I'm worried about Dezel, Zaveid and any of the people that might be on the same world as them. I even feel a little guilty, like...maybe I could have done something, anything to prevent this. Though I know that feeling's not rational.
[There's probably very little he could have done, he recognizes. This was out of his element But he can't deny the bits of guilt he feels.]
But I'm also happy that I can do something to help. Things like this is why I became an Exorcist.
And...I feel a little better now that I know you're here. Even if you're on the Marsiva, you've been a big help. I know what I'll be going into, and talking to someone else who knows what's going on makes me feel less alone in all this. I was starting to feel a little in over my head before you called.
So...thank you, Lailah.
Video;
His thanks has her smiling, though it's sad.]
I'll do everything I can once I'm able to leave the...Marsiva, if that's the place I'm at.
[However, it changes into a more serious expression. There's something she still needs to warn Allen about.]
But there's one more thing I need to warn you about. While I'm still in a pact with Sorey, he'll have all the powers as a Shepherd. This means three of the four elements will be worked against you. Please, be careful.
Video;
[That is not good news]
Isn't there any way to stop that? Or break the pact?
Video;
I can break my pact with him and that will, in turn, strip him of all the powers allotted to him as a Shepherd. This also means that I'll lose my ability to purify until I make another pact.
[She takes a moment to think.]
On my world, I've never heard of anything that has completely blocked a seraph's pact. If there's anyone from another world who has the potential to do that...it might be worth asking for their help, in that case.
Video;
[Time wasn't exactly on their side]
Will you be able to reform the pact once he's purified or do you need something from your world?
Video;
[The longer Sorey remains a hellion, the harder it will be to purify him. Allen's going to have a hard enough time with the pair of them as it is.]
All I need is for Sorey to be there and to have his consent. [She glances away sadly.] I won't force him to become my vessel. It's his choice, and I'll understand if he doesn't want to.
[After all of this, Lailah can't blame him. How can she? No matter what, though, she'll offer and she'll support his decision.]
Video;
You mean, a person can...quit being a Shepherd?
[SURE AIN'T HOW EXORCISTS WORK GIVE HIM A MOMENT]
Video;
Yes. The same holds true for any seraphim in a pact with me. Being a Shepherd is a great, lonely burden. If they feel reluctant or that they're forced to carry on with it, it will consume them and potentially allow malevolence to enter into their heart. That's why consent is so important, as well as a way to back out.
Video;
I see.
[He clears his throat]
In my world, people with the ability to become Exorcists are very rare. So much so that quitting isn't really an option.
Video;
[Time is hard when you're an immortal being. Lailah doesn't even remember how old she is anymore.]
However, I don't believe that forcing people into a position they truly don't want will help the world at large. That's been my philosophy as Prime Lord.
Video;
[It's probably good that Lenalee isn't here. He misses his dear comrade, but he feels like her reaction to this would be...yeeeeesh. ]
...Were it a week ago, I probably would've strongly disagreed with you. But seeing how much easier it for Shepherds to become Fallen Ones, I can understand why you would want to show such caution.
Video;
You wouldn't be the first to do so, and likely you wouldn't have been the last. It's not perfect. Some Shepherds will still fall, sometimes because they become single-minded in their duty.
[All she can do is try her best for her Shepherds.]
Allen, for what it's worth, I'm sorry that the same can't be said for your world. I wish that Exorcists were given more of a choice.
